Dreaming of custom retirement trailer - what features?

It's snowy and cold in the Midwest again and I'm dreaming of retirement (minimum of 6 yrs from now), Ft. Wilderness and being a snowbird. So, if I could custom design my retirement trailer, what would it be? Help me out with some ideas...or do you already have the trailer of my dreams?

I currently have a 19' popup which I like, but as I get "older" there are things I would change. Like a bathroom, more interior room, more storage, no wet tenting or back-breaking bunk ends, and not having to have help to set it up.

Maybe 22-24' (I think I could back that size in), 1 or more slideouts, hardside expandable (for when the family comes to visit), custom queen-size mattress for my aches and pains, large awning (18"?), large shower area (elbow room), and all the other normal features.

OK, I'm rolling now...what about a Splendide washer/dryer combo, refrigerator with freezer/ice maker, flat panel TV w/Dish Network, computer area...and a matching custom golf cart! Anybody have this setup?

I'm a tenter so your 19' pop-up looks like near heaven to me! If I could have anything though and somebody to tow it and set it up for me I saw a Jayco Recon ZX Toy Hauler at an RV show. I could be at home in it for a little while.

Deciding on a travel trailer is a tough thing to do, so many options, flavors, styles, and huge price differences! We spent more than a year researching before we bought our first used, and could not afford all we wanted.

That said, we think we got a great deal on one that suits our needs/wants and can be towed by our current truck. Our plan was for many local weekends at state campgrounds where electricity and water hook-ups are not available, so we needed water and good battery power. We also needed three bunks for the three kids, something that was not easy to find in the weight range we were looking at. Another decision we made was to go with a hard-sided instead of a hybrid due to the comments we heard from other weekenders that the process of setting up and tearing down camp each weekend, sometimes in the rain, was getting old. We like being able to pull in, walk to the trailer and sleep (if close enough to level). No need to dry anything out or worry about fabric getting moldy or leaking from being damp.

We enjoy not having a television in our trailer while the kids are young . We relax more, play more games and read more, periodically going outside to feed the mosquitos

However, for retirement, and if not planning on having many guests, we toured a lot of really nice TT's with living room areas. I like the Trailmanor set-up due to the low weight, low height when travelling, but they were out of our price range.

Enjoy the daydreaming and visiting RV shows, and I recommend starting a notebook with your list of wishes, needs and far out dreams all jotted down.

In addition to *all* of that (this would be totally stupid where I'm at in my life right now), but if I were retired and full- or part-timing it, I'd want one of those ones with a big picture window on the back wall and my recliner facing it! We saw one at the RV shop with a lovely fireplace! But I'd rather have the picture window. And I'd park it in Yosemite Valley!

We also have a pop-up and would like to upgrade to a small trailer. There is going to be an RV show this weekend in West Palm Bch., FL so we are going to start looking. Well the biggest problem I have is the size because we have our pop-up in the garage because it doesn't fit through the side of my house to get it to the backyard. We like those trailers that store like a pop-up I think it call Hi Low or something like that. I have been told they are really expensive. So if anyone has one of those any info will be great...

HiLo is one type of trailer like that, and TrailManor makes a similar one. Both looked very interesting when we were considering what we were going to get, but the $$$ was just not there.

If you google them, the TrailManor website has some very good gallery shots and you can check out the floor plans. They look like they would tow very well also. Looks like they set up fast and can be towed by smaller tow vehicles.

Only took that long because I didn't see the post sooner. BUT, I really like the idea of a picture window and a recliner too.

I went to the boat show in Houston and they had a 5er Toy hauler around 40' with a built in kegerator. It was a nice 5er but I cant remember what brand it was they said it was a new model that was made to compete with the Raptor.

A quick google revealed that the trailer in question is the KZ Inferno. http://www.kz-rv.com/inferno/index.html It's just a bit more trailer than I'm looking for myself though.

We're off to the annual RV show in Houston next weekend. Not planning on changing this year but maybe next once Baby needs his own bunk. And we'd need to change our tow vehicle too (kerching! now that's what the tax break's going towards), so checking out what's out there now so we can plan accordingly.

So on that note, any thoughts on a decent tow vehicle that can seat 7?! And an 80lbs furbaby?
