We are wait-listed night by night for 2 nights of an upcoming stay. I really really really wish I could go online and just check real-time availability everyday. Am I dreaming that one day this will be a possibility? It seems to sound like with the new web site we might be able to look up our points online and that sort of thing, but I really and truly hope I can one day check real-time availability for any DVC resort and be able to book it automatically with points from my account.

Anybody have any thoughts or theories as to whether or not Disney might have this and if so when????? I know it won't be in time for this trip, but to know that it's coming would sure be nice...

During the recent "upgrade" of the member web site, the promotional materials indicated that major changes would happen in late 2005. My guess is that we will then see some sort of online management/booking options. But it is just a guess.

I don't know if this is an indicator of what Disney might do but...when I've called MS to make a ressie, I've been selected to do a survey at the end of the phone call. And one of the questions asked is 'how would you like to make reservations in the future: phone, email, internet, fax. I personally always choose internet. Maybe if enough say it they'll do it??????

I've only recently accessed the internet from home (actually I just bought my first home computer a few months ago). Would it be fair to those without computers/internet for DVC to begin on-line booking? Even if phone reservations continue to be an option, would those folks be at a disadvantage (especially on weekends)?

fofinia, I have been calling the 800# alot lately and usually ignore the survey at the end, but good thinking! I will start doing the same and choosing internet as well.

sssteele, I don't think that there would be any disadvantage to those who still want to use the phone to make their ressies. I just find it cumbersome because I would like to check a variety of options and scenarios. I also want to check my waitlist situation. I hear it's somewhat controversial as to whether waitlisted people's ressies get cleared properly.

Doug7856 - I hope it happens, at first I thought late 2005 is SOOOO far away, but I thought I remembered them doing something in phases, so maybe they will give us little crumbs here and there to keep us going.

Oh well...I guess I will keep on dreaming!

Hilton's Grand Vacations Club has on-line reservations and I love it! When planning a trip, it is nice to se what is actually available using different date scenarios. That helps when trying to line up the lowest airfare with available dates.

That's EXACTLY what I'm trying to get at. The airfaire is so cheap right now for the dates we are booked, but we are waitlisted for the last night, so I can't book anything because I don't know for sure what day we will be going home. This could stretch out for another 30-40 days or however long I let it I guess until I can't stand it anymore and want to just book my air.

I would just feel better if I could go online everyday myself and look at the availability for that final date on my own without calling. I swear sometimes when I call to check on that waitlist, they don't really look in the computer for availability, they just tell me the waitlist hasn't come through. I am fearful something isn't happening correctly behind the scenes and if it were available we wouldn't get booked still. I have seen that happen on other threads here before.

GRRRR!!!!
