Hello everyone. I finally decide to get up and get moving. It wasnt a whole lot but enough to get me huffin and puffin-lol! I'm going to start off slow and hopefully I will be able to stick to it. My 1st trip to WDW is In Nov 08. I want to lose weight not only so i can feel good but be able to take dd(9) to the water park. I've also been told WDW can get very hot and humid. I only wear pant jeans because I'm so self conscious about my chicken legs(shaped like a drumstick) I hold most of my weight in my stomach and i would like to trim the rolls off my back too! My bone stucture is small-medium so i figure if i lose the wieght I might feel ok wearing capris(go figure it will show the park i hate my ankles) but I dont want to be dying in the humidity.

When i was 120 i still wasnt happy with my body but i"m hoping 150 I will then work on my body image issure and feel more confident. Many people have no idea I feel this way about my lower leg area below the knee.

Here is my plan. Low carb works for the best and i lose weight and feel better. My problem i'm a stress eater.
I'm going to be 36 at the end of this month
5'6
190-194 it fluxuates throughout the day

My goal 150 I'll be happy if i lose 20 pounds for my trip.


Day one- 20 min Tony lil Gazelle machine
3 mins stepping on my one step that goes down to living room
15 reps of arms (3 different types)
30 squats in am
30 sqauts in pm
k the 3 mins of stepping was harder than the 15 mins on the gazelle. Boy was I huffin and puffin.

I'm getting adjusted by my chiropractor so i need to ask about sit ups and other exercises.

I need to drink more water. Any other tips

PS. how do i get a disney weightloss ticker thingy???
 
I have a few questions for those of you who have had sucessful weightloss.

If i'm combining gazelle and stepping both are cardio-right? How much should i do per day?

any good exercises to build up my leg area between calf and ankle?

what are some good exercise to target midsection and sides? I'm going back to chiro on Monday so I'm gonna hold off on crunches and sit ups.

any other advice or comments please feel free to tell me. I need all the help i can get. :)

If youe ver get tired of plain water, try putting lemon or straight cranberry juice (unsweetened; you can find it at Trader Joe's). You can put as much or as little lemon but the cranberry is best 2 oz for every 8oz of water. If you put too much, I doubt you'll drink it all. This helps detox your liver, which can help speed up your weight loss.

Congratulations on making the decision to get in shape. I also started exercising about 2 weeks ago. It's a good idea to start a W.I.S.H journal, it helps keep you encouraged and accountable.

Day 2

breakfast scrambled eggs and bell peppers topped with cheese and side of bacon and glass of water

Lunch- 1/2 ceasar salad, 1/2 roadhouse bacon burger from Chilis and a few glasses of water.

Dinner- Grilled steak and corn on the cob and glass of water.

I woke up this morning and added 1 min to gazzele so i did 16 min

I went shopping today at a store that sells size 12+ found a cute pair of jeans size 12 but for 58.00 I thought it was to much. Found a cute white button down top with a waist belt so cute normally I'd never wear something like that but it sure tempted me. I usually hate my rolls but The bigger size would hide it-lol! I just couldnt spend 38.00 the outfit would have been 96.00 plus tax way to much for me. I figure i need to keep working out, so i can find smaller stuff on sale. This store I think called Torids hardly has sales.
I was a bit bummed but not because i couldnt find anything that fit just to expensive.


QUESTION: is it better to workout first thing in the morning or in the evening??
 
DAY 3

Breakfast -scrambled eggs with bell peppers and cheese and 2 strips of bacon. Large glass of water

Lunch popcorn and water Bad choice at the movies- watched WALL E:rolleyes: boring

Dinner cheese burger and fries. I didnt do good today

I upped my exercise routine

20 mins on gazelle. I was planning on 30 mins but the arch on my left foot started feeling tight.
25 steps on each leg total 50
arms
squats am 36
squats pm 36

I'm going to cut up some pieces of cheese for snack tomorrow. I think tomorrow will be easier because i will be home all day.

Sat 7/12/08 Day 5

Not off to a good morning. Did some research for wdw. I've been debating the dining plan and today confirmed it. We had breakfast at a buffet today. I figured it would determine if ddp was a good choice for us. DF keep saying get the plan but today confirmed my thoughts. After we ate i asked DF if the way he felt at the moment could he walk around a huge park and get on rides. He agreed the DDP woulnt be a good idea for us. He even said we could even probablay split some meals. This means i'll save movre money and not gain as much weight-lol!

I'll be back tonight to post my exercises

Update:

I was very hungry all day. I nibbled on some slices of montery cheese and a 2 strips of bacon. I cut the bacon strips in half so it seems like i'm eating 4 pieces-lol!
For late lunch I had a salad, pieces of bacon, chopped up montery cheese and a glass of water

Wasnt really in the mood to exercise but i did.
20 of gazelle. next week i will up the time

Congratulations, you are off to a good start. It's good that you're starting with tiny steps. I like how you post what you eat and exercise, I might start doing that too.

Thanks. I figure I need to start out slow so i dont get discourage or shock my body. When i start lowering my carb intake I get headaches from tetoxing the surgurs from my body. Then i feel great-lol!

Breakfast- boiled egg

Snack 1- cheese

Lunch- salad topped with cheese, bacon, boiled egg slices. Glass of water

Snack 2- brocoli , cauliflower with ranch dip

Dinner- Season chicken grilled, steamed veggies topped with nacho cheese. Glass of water

Day 7

Today was a hard day. I just feel hot and tired. I got my adjustment today and felt good but i needed relax the rest of the day for my body to relax. I did for a lil while but had errnads to run and I was just pooped. My body is also getting rid of sugars so thats why i feel run down. Hope tomorrow will be a better day.

No exercise today because i got my chiro adjusment and I need to rest the rest of the day. I totally forgot to ask Dr. about sit ups. maybe i'll wait on that since I didnt hold my adjusment from last week. I really need to learn to relax so i can hold. DF said its the way I sis when i'm on the puter and on the couch watching tv. I slouch down with my butt alomst off the chair and couch, well not that far down . I need to sit correctly and watch my posture. I carry most of my stress in my shoulders and its hard to loosen up.

Breakfast-1/2 of a 1/2 of bagel with cream cheese-lol!\

lunch-chili burger

Dinner- cardne asada (grilled flap meat- i think its called that) chopped up on a salad then topped with salsa and guacamole. DF had carne asada tacos but mine was minus the tortillas

QUESTION

I know soda is bad but which would be better regular sprite or diet coke???
I usually drink diet coke when i diet but the other day i had a diet coke and it made me feel so sick because it was just to sweet.
I hear some say diet soda is bad because whats in it others say its better. Would love to read your opinions. Thanks

Go for the regular soda. If possible, buy soda from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods because that is most natural soda you can get without all these preservatives and chemicals. If you do get reg. sprite, just drink less of it.

In the morning, before you eat anything, it gets your metabolism going and you are working out more towards losing the fat that you already have then what you recently ate.

Thanks for the tip. I'm feeling a lil bummed. Not sure why. Thank goodness the headaches are finally gone.
As far as exercising I'm not feeling very motivated, but with your post :goodvibes its encouraging me to workout tonight then tomorrow morning. I will do morning from now on.
 
Day 8

Breakfast- egg omlet with cheese topped with guacamole and salsa 2 strips of bacon glass of water

Late Lunch-grilled chicken and steamed veggies topped with melted cheese and glass of water

Day 9

Today was a nice day. DF treated me to a haircut and color for my B-day. I usually dont ever pamper myself. I think this was great selfesteem boaster for me. I also got he day to myself. I met my friend for dinner. It was nice to catch up. Its been awhile since i've seen her. She loved my new hairsttyle. I dont think she's ever seen me with anything other than my long curly hair-lol! I felt great.

Dinner- 2 fish tacos and lots of water today.


I didnt even have much of an appetitie today. Didnt even want a late night snack:goodvibes

I didnt have time to exercise this morning so i did this evening. Before i started i looked down at my tummy and it looked a tad bit flatter- not so bloated.:cool1:

I felt really good today. My B-day is in 2 weeks and we will meet my family for dinner. I'm hoping to wear something nice to go with new do.
I will also be going to DF grandma's big 75th B-day party and i want to be able to go shopping and find something nice that fits. For her 70th big bash I was miserble that i couldnt find anything that fit. Hoping this year will be different:banana:

I noticed that you have several exercise related questions. There are two great sources:
1.) Your doctor. Anytime you make a lifestyle change (I will not use the d word) you should talk to your doctor, s/he can also give you feedback on your weight goal.
2.) A personal trainer. Even if you don't belong to a gym, you can meet with a personal trainer. Before my last CP I met with one at the Y, it only cost me 15 dollars and she gave me a workout routine that was geared toward the progress I wanted to make and the equipment I would have available while I was down there. It was money well spent.
