Dreamflight 2015 takes off:
http://home.bt.com/news/uk-news/mat...start-to-dreamflight-adventure-11364011470942
We normally go to WDW around this time of year and quite a few years ago, we noticed we kept running into groups of people with disabilities, some very severely disabled. They were wearing matching shirts in each small group and lanyards or shirts that said Dreamflight. They seemed to always be very happy and I was curious who they were and where they came from.
Dreamflight is a charity in the UK that sends 200 children with disabilities to Orlando on a 10 day trip of a lifetime. Volunteer doctors, nurses and other caregivers accompany them to make sure their needs are taken care of. For many, it is the first time they have been away from home - or even away from their family.
And, the families get a 10 day respite - often for the first time.
Really cool program all around.
