"Dream Weavers" September 1, 2011

1 year equals 1-Thanksgiving, 1-Christmas, 1-New Year, how many inches of snow, 1-Easter, 1-end of the school year, maybe a graduation, 1-fourth of July, 1-fall-winter-spring and summer come and gone and finally the start of a whole new school year. When you look at it that way it seems like a life time away. :confused3

Pat, is Dale a 'cup half empty' kind of guy?

One year means 365 days of anticipation

"Will I actually try the escargot this time?"
"I wonder when they will be posting the first navigators."
"OK, I still have a year to lose a couple pounds."
"I must remember to order a mickey bar, I can't believe I haven't tried one yet."
and I could go all night (not to say year) thinking about every wonderful moment!

When you plan and 'dream' about it, it almost seems as if we are already there!:cloud9:

Deb,

Dale loves the anticipation! He thinks it is still so far away. I remember when we booked back in March, wow, five months have FLOWN by! I too cannot wait for some of the Dream stuff to post!

Well, we just added another trip in before the cruise. Dale and I are going to WDW in January to do the full marathon. We did the 1/2 this past January. Praying for slightly warmer temps this year.

We just returned home from WDW trip and cruise on the Wonder. It was absolutely amazing!!!
I too will be there in January. I'm doing the 1/2 marathon (not ready for a full yet). Maybe next year. This trip will be an adult only trip (no kids), so I'm gonna be able to do alot of things I'm normally not allowed too.

Wow, Alex, I'm so jealous. We had originally planned on being at the World this past week, but that didn't pan out.

Are you a runner? I 'try' to run, but spend a lot of time walking. I'll tell you, there is no race like a Disney race! It's an amazing experience.

Yes, I started running this past feb. and have run a few 5ks, 10ks, and 1/4 marathons this summer. I running my first half in 5 weeks (Niagara Falls marathon 1/2) and then the Disney in january. I have also done the Castaway Cay run as well. Its a must on this next cruise! I think I will try the Wine and Dine marathon in 2011.

Good for you! I want to run, but I'm so slow it's more a snails pace. Dale likes to run with me, but he's got legs way longer than mine, so he can walk while I'm exerting all my energy 'running'! Our dd who is cruising with us next September is a runner. She made it into the NYC marathon for this year, so she may be real interested in the Castaway Cay run.

Hello again! I think you guys are fabulous for running! :cool1: I don't mind walking all day but I can't get the hang of running. I also have an achy hip lately, so I am afraid to even start! Kudos for running the Marathons!

:scared1: and not just any thread, but a cruise meet thread!!! I guess some of you guys are in training for the marathons... I myself am in training for the 3 weeks of utter gluttony I plan to indulge in next year:rotfl: Actually, I am 'trying' to lose weight.

So, what's new?? I am back to work now, crazy hours hopefully to come to pay for said gluttonous vacation!

How does everyone keep 'Dreaming' about the cruise when mired in work? I am trying to find nice reggae music to listen to, any suggestions?

Somebody please respond, I hate it when I kill threads!:rolleyes1 Otherwise, Happy Autumn everyone!:cheer2:

Well trust me Debbie, if you wanna be a glutton....its real easy to do while aboard a DCL ship. Well, at least I'm good at doing it! Hence thats why I run.
Music, pictures and websurfing are probably the best way to keep your Dream vacation alive......I'm not sure if this is your first Disney cruise but man are they addictive..... Were always counting the days until our next.

Here's a link to our most recent vacation a few weeks ago where we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and did a cruise on the Wonder. There's a bunch of cruise pics that'll get you through the day

Debbie, you aren't a thread killer. I had actually typed out a post after yours, but we've had so much trouble with our internet that once again, it was lost.

Alex, love the pics of your family! Looks like you had a great trip! AKV is our 'home' for DVC. We'll be staying there the end of November. Can't wait.

As for the cruise, I am so wishing the days would just fly by. Can't wait til after the inaugural cruise to see lots of 'real' photos!

Nice Pics Alex. Thanks for sharing. When were you at the AKL?? We were at AKL concierge leve August 21-27. I miss Disney!!!

Were back on Dec 4th. 3nights at SSR an then 5 nights at AKV

You just missed us. We checked in AKV CL on the 28th! And headed to the Wonder on Sept 2

Yep!!!!! That was the tail end of Hurricane Earl. The oceans were very rough coming out of Port Canaveral. (We nicnamed it hearl, for obvious reasons) Rough seas doesn't bother us at all, but I felt bad for alot of those that were on their first cruise and nervous of rough seas. That was the roughest weve ever experienced and we sailed past another hurricane in oct 2008 and way rougher than our Transatlantic.

Alex, oh my for those rough waves! Was there a hurricane nearby? When we cruised in 2008, we went 'around' one and one night the waves were so bad, I was swaying. We weren't up near the pools, so I have no idea what they looked like.

We'll just miss you, we'll be at AKV 11/29-12/4, then we're at SSR 1/7-1/10 (for the marathon). Haven't stayed at SSR before, but was only thing available for the entire stay.

Oh my,,, this is so funny.... I'm probably staying at Port Orleans from jan -6to11th for the marathon. Weve stayed at SSR many times and also love it there. Very different from some of the other DVC resorts. Very relaxing!!!! Great access to DTD. Unforetunately the marathon weekend is not a DVC vacation for me since I'm not going with the family but a group of friends instead. The bright side to that is that I'm headed back to WDW to stay at AKV on jan22 with the family.
