Need an advice....
We are booked on jan 7 2017 Star Wars Day at sea but due to the revamp on Dream which have new oceaneer club- Star Wars, infinity- plus The Venelope store and the satellite falls- and the feedback about Jedi training on fantasy... I'm torn of switching our reservation to Dream although we've cruised on Dream already last 2014. I feel like theres no new on what my daughter will see on the oceaneer club... Input is very much appreciated... Thanks

I have moved this to the main Cruise Board where you should get more replies.

We are sailing on Dream again in a few weeks (first since the dry dock changes) and are looking forward to seeing all that they have.
That being said, we like the longer cruises on Fantasy a lot more than the shorter cruises on Dream. :) Until we take a b2b cruise, we will travel more on Fantasy and won't miss the other things that the Dream offers, but we will have more time on the ship. lol

Enjoy your cruise!

I have no input on the Star Wars part, but 7 days on the Fantasy is a slice of heaven, I'd stick with that cruise!

The Fantasy is a wonderful ship with lots to do. Even without the revamped Kids Club, my kids had a blast. We enjoyed the Star Wars day at sea and believe me, the whole day is Star Wars!!! My son and I spent the day walking around, getting pictures, looking as costumes, etc. You will have you fill. As far as Jedi Training, it is a broken process IMO, but not a deal breaker. If you feel it will be that big of a disappointment, then you can skip it or keep trying. Stick with the Fantasy, you will love it.

We canceled our SWDAS on the Fantasy and instead went b2b on the Dream - I wasn't getting warm fuzzines with all the reviews of the SWDAS and honestly for less money I was able to get a better category cabin (what I really wanted) and two days at castaway, which we LOVE!

I am HOPING that Disney has learned some since the last round of SWDAS stuff and the broken things (Meet and Greet, Jedi Training, Pin purchase) should be fixed by next year.

I love the Dream, and Venelopes is great - but it's expensive. The Fantasy is still a beautiful ship - and my favorite. There is no lack of things to do in the kids club or of things to do on the ship in general and SWDAS will keep you occupied for a whole day at sea. IMHO 7 days on the Fantasy is better than B2B on the Dream.

You can't go wrong either way, but I would keep the Fantasy if it were my cruise. :-)

I was on SWDAS in Feb. It was awesome and I had a great time, but we were 3 adults, so can't speak for the kids activities. You can read my just-completed trip report here.
I feel like SWDAS is only going to get better over time. They will probably work out all the kinks and address the negative feedback from this year. Although for the record, my only complaint was that they didn't spread it out over 2 days!! LOL.
The kids clubs I saw on the Fantasy during open house were awesome! I too prefer the longer cruise. You can actually get settled in which I like.

Ultimately it is up to you on what you want to do. A longer cruise sounds better to me rather than a B2B.

I prefer the 7 night on the Fantasy, but if you are good with the 4 night, I would go with that. We did the Star Wars cruise this past April, we had the cruise booked prior to the announcement and prior to the prices going sky high, so we did not specifically seek it out because of Star Wars.

My opinion, although the Star Wars day was a nice treat, it is DEFINATELY not worth paying the premium price tag DCL has attached to the dates.

So, in my opinion, don't let the Star Wars day at sea be your guide here, I would use the 7 nights vs 4 nights, and for me 7 might wins.
