Dream Team- how do they choose?!

Is it really and truly just random selection, or are there specific reasons why people are chosen for a YOAMD prize?

For all prizes that are of worth (ones listed as official in the rules, Fastpasses, night in castle ect...) a computer picks a time and place. For others like buttons, stickers, choosing a family for "family of the day" and so on, they can choose who they want.

It's really and truly a random selection based solely on being in the right place at the right time.

Wearing silly hats or day-glo t-shirts screaming "PICK US TO SLEEP IN THE CASTLE!" will NOT increase your chances of winning one bit. It's the Year of a Million Dreams, not "Let's Make a Deal".
