Is the dream suite do you enter a contest or do they just pick a family a day ?

How does this all work anyone know?

I spent every day of the four I was there looking for the dream team. on my last day, I noticed a family that I had seen every day too (they had matching loud floral shirts every day in different colors, couldn't miss them) get picked to be the grand marshalls in the parade. I felt like I knew them by then.

I waited for the nice dream maker guy to finish talking to them and then I followed him and said, "hi! I'm a big fan! we talk about you on the Dis!" He was tickled to think that dream makers have a following. He gave me an autographed copy of the Disney employee magazine with his interview in it. It was fun to meet him. He is in the commercial, granting dreams, with pixie dust, he has white hair. I'll try to scan a copy of the magazine.

You spent the whole time looking for the dream team? That doesn't sound very fun, but what do I know?

And I think the whole purpose of being "dreamed" is being surprised at random by getting chosen. I don't think you're supposed to follow the dream team around, hoping you'll get dreamed. I don't think it works like that at all. I think that would pretty much mean you won't get dreamed.

I didn't explain that well, every day I was there, I went early and hoped to see them but didn't spend my time just looking. I had a blast. :thumbsup2

When you know how dream team members are dressed, it's easy to notice them and hope that they're carrying big bags or are ready to give out something.

I notice them all the time and still have a wonderful time at the parks!

Stalking would be wrong hehe ... :rolleyes1

Ooooooo... can you imagine???? I would DIE from happiness.

Thing about the suite is that it isn't ONLY given out to park visitors. It can also be used for promotions (the first actual family who stayed there was in Ellen's audience and chosen from there), or really however they choose. There's no equal chance 365 days a year, many days are blocked for promotional reasons.

But other than that, the Dream Team is, as far as I understand it, told where to go and at what time by a computer choosing those things randomly.

That said, I was told by a CM who gave us a magical moment (preferred seating for Billy Hill) that with Dreams, the earlier in the day you get there, the better.

As for it not being fun to try to spot the DT, whatever! It would be less fun to purposely NOT look for them, or to ignore them, than to have the fun of keeping an eye out for them. :)

We wouldn't have gotten the magical moment if I hadn't noticed the CM dressed awfully like a DT member (I believe she was, but just wasn't on orders from the computer at that moment, so she had her jacket on over her vest) and purposely walked by her, gave her a big smile, and said good morning. She chose to reply with more than a 'good morning' back, we got into conversation, and voila, magical moment given. :goodvibes

Ah, so you charmed your way in to be dreamed huh? You sly dog. ;)

Well, keeping your eyes out for them is FAR different than spending the whole time looking for them.

Back to the original question - how does the Dream Suite work? Are you actually sequestered in the park overnight? Could you walk around a bit? Go take a swim in the river? Do they supply toothbrushes? ;)

As we were told, it is totally random where the Dream Squad awards the dreams. The two dreams we received were around 9-9:30 ish so i would agree that most of the dreams are handed out in the AM hours.

dumb question:

do they only dream at disneyland or at DCA too?

i am assuming both but want to be sure.

Actually you can get chosen at DL, DCA, DTD and I believe also at the hotel common areas, I believe you can win anywhere on Disney property. I know DTD area is in cause I have seen/heard of people winning over there.

yep yep, i seen them dream people coming off the tram before.

FYI, DO NOT go after a Dream Squad member. They like to SUPRISE people, not be handed to people who ask for them. Keep that in mind.

I agree and what I meant to say is that I knew they were around (Fantasyland) b/c I kept being told "the DT is at Snow White" "the DT is at Mr Toad"

I didn't spend four days looking for them, I spent four days having a blast and then on the last day I met one of the head DT guys and that was a fun experience all by itself

to each his or her own, as far is what is fun or not

Does anyone know if there are any pictures of what the dream suite looks like?
I would love to see!

:tink: I was walking in DTD, by the Tram drop-off area (that comes from the parking structure). I noticed three CM's with big attache type bags. I walked up to them and asked if they were the dream team. They said we could be. I then said can i be dreamed? They responded by handing me and everyone in my group a lanyard, with two dream pins on it.:cool1: I would still like to hear from someone that has won the dream suite.:wizard:
