What happened to the dream squads now the YOMD is over? Were they laid off:sad2:. Also... has anybody heard of WDW giving out any dreams still?

No Dream Squad layoffs because nobody was hired for that position. Existing Cast Members were Dream Squaders for about three months each (not all CMs, but the ones assigned as Dream Squaders). Even these CMs did their standard job during their respective shifts; they only did Dream Squad stuff as needed.

No.

This is not to say that Magical Moments (unscripted, spontaneous, over-the-top Guest interactions) don't happen each and every day -- they do. But no, prizes are no longer being randomly dolled out.

Dream Squad members at WDW worked only that job while on this amazing temporary assignment. Usually the TA was 3-12 months long. Most returned to their previous position, but many are now part of guest relations. When you visit, look around, we are still out there and many of us are still making dreams come true in our own way.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and wonderful memories. We were truly blessed and most of us miss being part of that amazing group.

DD and I were on a mother/daughter trip. We were getting off the tower of terror and looking at our picture. We were chatting with the CM that sold our picture to us. When we received them at our hotel, they came with a magical moment for our mother daughter trip and she even remembered our names and put them in there. I love the little special things that pop up anywhere. I must admit I detest it when people "try" to get extras. There are extras I will not post nor do I necessarily want to know about because it should always be a spontaneous thing.

Best to all
Mal

The Dreamigrants! Yes, a lot of us are in Guest Relations. :)

The dreamsquads may not be there anymore but the cast members are still doing wonderful things. On 9/25 during MNSSHP two cast members came running over to my dd3, who was dressed as Princess Aurora, saying princess, princess. They stopped right in front of her and knelt down in front of her talking. All she wanted to do was get to the carousels to ride a horsey. They went on to say that princess Auoroa had told them to go find my dd and that they had been looking all over the park for her. They had something that Princess Aurora wanted them to give to her. They then pulled out one of those giant chocolate chip cookies and it had a couple brown and orange ribbons around it. My dd thanked them for it and promptly tried to walk around them as they were in her way to get to the horsey's.

That was a complete shock to both my dw and myself as, even though we are both are disney fanatics and have been to WDW way to many times to list, this was the first time something like that has ever happenned to us. And I just wanted to thank the cast members who do/did stuff like this everyday one more time and remind them that this is what makes Disney what it is.

We had a chance to see our Dream person Jeni in HS this past trip and I cry each time I see as it brings back such memories of our wonderful day with her and Matthew.

I was at BC wearing my YOMD lanyard and the CM said to me congrats. I was puzzled and he said on my lanyard. The conversation started and Ryan, the CM, had also been on the Dream Team and remembered hearing about our son. It was so nice to speak to him. He said that the plan was to have the team go onto management. The first team did but then the change in the economy hit and most of the team went to their original jobs or other positions.

He took the time to make a new dream for our son. He knew Bob another Dream team member who played with our son at the Woody parade and they got together and made a new dream for our son. When we returned to our room on the very last evening, on the counter was a present for DS. It was a Woody doll from Bob and Ryan and beautiful letter.

Yes, the Dream team is still at WDW! It may not be official but they are making dreams come true each day.

:wizard: Well when I was in Disney some CM's just walked up to me and gave me a smoothie. Plus, I got and official autograph book and pen and a PIN!
