Dream: May 22, 2011

We ended up going with a car service, which allowed us to head to the boat when we wanted to, they'll let us stop at a grocery store on the way back for supplies (we're staying at Bay Lake Tower for a few days after), and it was waaaaaay cheaper to get a 15-passenger van than it was to pay for 11 people to do Magical Express.

SO it appears, we should take a private car service or taxi... We already paid for the DCL transfer, do you know if we would be able to cancel or get our money back? or I wonder if we could tag our luggage at AKL and leave it for the DCL shuttle and then take a private car with just our carry ons????

we only have the four of us.. My mom and my sister are flying in on sunday morning, but that won't help us out. they have disney transfers from the airport to the boat...
My DH will not be happy that he has to wait that long on the bus, he would probably rather take a car service.. I guess it is a switch off, if we take the bus- takes longer to get there BUT our luggage is taken for us and we don't have to worry about lugging all of the stuff.. If we do the car service, then I guess we will have a shorter ride, but have to lug all of our stuff around- even if our room is not ready:(
which car service have you used?

Unless there is something you specifically want to carry onto the boat, you can still give your bags to a porter for delivery to the room, regardless of whether you take a bus, taxi or car.

Sorry, I missed the question regarding the car service. My parents booked that part, so I'll find out and will PM you the information (since I'm not sure if it's kosher to post it here).

Does anyone else follow the long range weather forecast?
I am told that the long range forecast is for rain when we go!! BOOOOO!!

We're taking a car service, because unfortunately there is only one bus from AKL to the port and it doesn't leave until about 12 noon. We stayed at AKL our first cruise (last September) and took the DCL bus; it picked us up at AKL at 12, then went to Beach Club, then Boardwalk and it didn't get us to the port until 2:30. Since we were the first on the bus we sat on it for a looooong time!

How many of you are there? I can recommend a good private car service that is actually the same price as DCL if you have 4 people, and it's CHEAPER if you have more than 4!!

We have 4 people.. If you can PM the name of the private car service, that would be great!! After reading all the posts, I am thinking we should skip the shuttle and do the private car service-

Hey-
I got your message- but when I tried to reply, I kept getting an error message that said traceyjayne has turned off the private messages- not allowing private messages to be sent:)

But, yes, that would be wonderful for our boys to meet up!! I would love for Cooper (and family):thumbsup2 to have friends in UK- would give me a reason for another vacation- :)
:dance3:

I think that there are a few of us (parents) who plan on bringing our kids to the meet-up on Sunday so that they can all get to know each other and group up, if they wish. If you want to drag them along, they'll get a chance to meet everyone. :)

You should have seen the look on my DH's face when he came across the suitcase I already packed full of the FE's :lmao: In my defense, it's carry-on sized! Now he thinks it's funny, and loves to tell people about my suitcase full of presents ;)

Love it :lmao: Made my DH just read this :goodvibes

I have TWO carryon suitcases just for FE's. And I HAVE to carry them on!! Even with all of the stuff I plan to buy, I just know we will be coming home with an empty suitcase!!!

You go, I'm just about done with the kids ones but have one gift that I'll probably fill in them when we get to our cabin since I want to make sure they don't get crushed in my bag.

Now I need to focus on the adult gifts

Good Morning everyone

party: Happy Mothers Day party:
to all of my fellow May Dreamers Double Deuce cruisin' Moms.

Happy Mother's Day to you and everyone else :flower3:

We have hired a taxi (********) to take us and as we have the same taxi fro the airport when we arrive we managed to work a 3 way deal, I have asked them to collect us from Univarsal hotel early am so as we get to the port early. We are in the 10.30 slot for booking in so that's good as we would rather board on the earliest possible!
Tracey, Eric and Luke

oops looks like I wasn't allowed to state the taxi name sorry!!

One of my best friends just boarded today. She drove to the port, got there around 9:30, got boarding # 5 and was on board by 12:15 she said.

Well on the bright side maybe the pools won't be as crowded :confused3

I will PM you the name of the service I always use - he has driven my clients to/from the ports and they've all loved him as well. He'll even do complicated combinations like airport-WDW-port-WDW-airport, or throw in Universal, etc.

Don't worry about having to deal with your luggage, you'll be able to drop it off with a porter at the entrance and only carry around your "day bag."
