Dream: May 22, 2011

Cruiselady - It is my understanding that the newest episode of "Pirates of the Caribbean" is to be released on May 20, so that should be showing onboard, and I believe it is 3D!! I would think that your DD & DS should be able to get pool time on Nassau Day, but the "at sea" day might be hit or miss. However, the Kids clubs look totally awesome, so kids overall may be split between there and the pools.

rsleleux - welcome to the cruise.:goodvibes

mousejunkie98 - hmmmmm, DCL website is still showing all the CAT 4 available and Cat 5A with 2 staterooms available. Wonder what's up with that.

I saw those, but only if I put in 1 adult only!! Of course, I'd go by myself if I had to :rotfl: I have a feeling we're really booked to the gills and things are coming and going only as people cancel or move to different dates. There may be some TA holds expiring and then getting snatched up as well. All in all, should be a party!!

Of course, we have a guaranty so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all the Cat 5's stay booked and we get bumped up to a Cat 4 :cool1:

:dance3:Hi Henlady, my kids were happy to hear about the movie. How may outfits do you need for a 4 night Bahamian. Is most of the time spent in swim wear?

Hi rsleleux, thanks for the welcome:cool2:

During the day, we spend a lot of our time in swimwear (the boys throw on a t-shirt and I usually put on shorts or a cover-up for walking around the ship). I did bring something nice to wear each night to dinner, even on the non-dressy nights. We also brought pirate gear for the deck party ;)

With regard to packing, I am not a big "pool person". I most likely won't go near the pool onboard, except to maybe sit on a lounge chair and have a drink with DH - he's the sun worshiper. I pack 3 pr of shorts and 3 tops - 1 set for each day (not counting what I have on when boarding) and 1 pr black slacks and 1 black skirt and 4 nice tops for the evenings(skirt 2 nights and slacks 2 nights) and my bathing suit and cover-up for Castaway Cay day. That seems to work perfectly for me. If I don't limit myself, I tend to overpack.

Thanks for the info on the clothes. I am an extreme over packer. So is my DD. I do not want to over pack. For once, I want to pack simple and not throw in a bunch of stuff the last day because I might need it. Who am I kidding? I never need it.:cool1:

i believe i will throw a sweater in for each of us, as the wind blows a lot and it may be chilly at night.

I think a sweater is a good idea. Also I started to write down what I want to bring to make it more simple.

ok, so is 525 obc enough for our cruise? I only plan on taking kiddo parasailing in cc (if its available of course!) and Ash, is linking her KTTW card to her own credit card, so with tips for Chance and I, a few alcoholic beverages, and a couple souveniers? IS this enough? or am I cutting the budget too close? (125 is obc due to TA/DCL booking and 400 from me)

Well dear friends, it is snowing here in Central Pennsylvania. That light powdery stuff that likes to blow into huge drifts......we shall see what happens when the wind starts blowing this afternoon and it dips to 5 degrees tonight.:scared1:

Looks like our cruise is officially filled. It has been removed from Disney's website for about 3 days now.

Naomi:
I would think that should be plenty. Basic tips for you and Chance would come to about $96 total, figure about $25 per souvenir just to be safe, Drinks of the Day run about $4.50(including tip), regular bar drinks are around $8-$9 each depending on what it is. Beers are about $4.50. Parasailing is $79 per person, regardless of age.
Here's a rough breakdown::teacher:
4 souvenirs @ $25 each = $100
4 drinks of the Day @ $4.50 X 4 days = $72
Parasailing for 2 = $158
Tips for room stewart & dining staff = $96
Miscellaneous Tips for room service = $20
That comes to $446, so you'd have about $79 for any extras.
Hope that helps.

2 of these Marine patrols were cruising the port that day! Gave me a good feeling.

hey henlady, here it is 29 degrees i believe and i thought thst was bad. i sure dont wish i was in 5 degrees weather right now. hope you stay warm. johnny quest, i cant wait to see the ship.

Jim, you got it right!!! Thank you so much.
In the pic of the rear of the ship, the bottom visible deck is deck 5 we're the next deck up - deck 6. There are the 2 portholes, then a cabin to the left(my left as looking at the picture) and we're the next one in, the flag pole is at the next stateroom over.. Glad to see they finally got the dividers up between those verandahs back there.

OOhhhh, Naomi, were you holding out on us????

LOL No I wasnt at the port! I dont drive a white mercury villager! And I dont support the "rivers" fund that that particular plate supports. My plates support the Missoula Symphony...... Much prettier! Heck, even the standard blue and white plates are prettier than the "rivers" plates!

I went on line at DCL and did a "mock-up" booking......got a cat 4-C w/ verandah [rm 7130] for 2 people for $2297.44...........I don't think it is full yet.
