Dream: May 22, 2011

Thats funny Tracy. I just had a "quarter life" freak out here recently. I turned 30 on the second of this month, and have spent the last six months "getting my poop in a group" so to speak. Changed everything from career to schools, to housing situation! Heck, I even went to therapy! :rotfl: Part of that change was deciding to do "things" that I never thought we could afford. Granted DCL is EXPENSIVE, it is not that much more than driving somewhere, paying for lodging, paying for food three times a day, and any activities along the way. Looking at it that way, I was appalled at how much just a simple road trip for a week to my surrounding states was going to cost! Plus, WHY NOT do something for my child that my family could never do! Cruise ON!

Oh I TOTALLY agree about the cost. This past May we spent 7 nights at the Wilderness Lodge and did the whole "Disney" thing!!! It cost us almost double of what these B2B cruises are costing us and that was even with the FL discount. I can't wait to save some money on these cruises once the FL discount is released for them!!!:worship: (Oh Please, Oh Please!!) My kids are only young once and I want to make sure they have TERRIFIC memories!!!

Good for you making changes and going forward!!! Thoughts are things!!!

Husurdady - you and your wife get all of the pixie dust we can send!!:wizard:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
Hope the weather is nice and sunny with a few big puffy white clouds and a soft breeze.

On our first cruise back in Oct '05 we ended up cruising with Hurricane Wilma. Don't want to do anything like that again, but it was definately an experience:rolleyes:.

Thanks Johnny for taking the FE. This is our first cruise and I want to enjoy everything that makes Disney cruising great. Thanks to everyone for all of the info. I am so excited!!!!

Question!
Are we planning on randomly giving our gifts, or are we going to kind of do a rotation type deal?

MTmomma,
So far we have 14 cabins total on our list as one group. I'm not sure what you mean by rotation. However, there are no set rules, so you may participate any way you choose.

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd drop by to see what's new.
Johnny Quest, I think that what MTMomma was referring to by "rotation" is that, from what I understand, some FE groups designate a specific day(s) of the cruise that each participant is to deliver their gifts. On the cruise that I participated with the FE, it was just whenever anyone wanted to deliver them. Some FE groups get very specific about the "rules", but that is not necessary.

By the way, I just booked another cruise on the Dream for Nov 13, 2011. 2 cruises in 6 months!! :dance3: For the Nov one, DD and DGS will be traveling with us. DGS absolutely loves "Mickey's Boat". He went on his first cruise this past May at the age of almost 3 and that is all he talks about, we promised that after he turned 4 (next June) that we would go again. So, now whenever someone asks how old he is he says "I'm 4, I'm going on Mickey's Boat". :rotfl2:

Thanks Henlady,
I agree, at this point there is no reason to"rotate" the FE. You can deliver gifts at your convenience. If it gets too big we can consider changes at that point. We will probably spread ours out over a couple days anyway so the kids get gifts more than once.

Thanks Again,
Jim

Hey Everyone!!!

What is this cruise "meet" I have been reading about? Are we all going to get together and meet sometime during the cruise?

This cruise will be the second leg of our B2B and the first cruise hasn't mentioned anything about a "meet". There doesn't seem to be alot of people on here that is doing our first leg either.

I am going to be just so excited to be there that I am up for anything!!

HI every -one, just stop in to see what's going on. JIm what did we name our cruise?????? And how you coming with the F E's I see you are MR. Chairman now. You are GOOD, I know you can do it.Still can not get my DW interested in the exchange, she is too busy with work and all. Please don't kick me out of the "klick" cause we are not doing the FE ....ok. ARE we going to have a group meet at 3 pm on the first day. Someone asked early....what do we do at the meeting, Well you meet and greet with every one and for those doing the FE and let say get an UP grade at the port , you would want to tell all your FE members your new ROOM number and last but not least..............the head of the FE [ this being JIM , J Q] buys drinks for everyone ......Just kiddin' you guys have got to watch THE HOOSIER DADDY..........I am a "kidd-ster" :lmao: :rotfl2:

Husurdaddy YOU went cruising without us also!!! - how was your September cruise? Hopefully the hurricane weather didn't hinder you. We have another 4 night Dream cruise booked for Nov '11. Not doing any planning for that one yet at all.

At this point we aren't planning on doing the FE exchange either. But hey, we're up for a meet with all of you. On past cruises anyone who was available just got together at a pre-planned convenient spot and introduced ourselves and chatted a bit. We'll just need to select a "spot". It was enjoyable to "run" into each other over the following days. I was actually able to meet a couple of fellow cruisers in the terminal just from their descriptions of themselves. I won't be difficult to pick out, I'm 6ft tall. Not to many of us 6ft females around.

It will be a beautiful weekend here in central PA. Mid 70's and sunny. Doesn't get much better than that. The leaves have been turning color.
Not too much brilliant color this year, but they are still enjoyable to view.
Just not looking forward to the snow that will be coming!!

You all have a great weekend.

No planning for us also, we have a sept, 25 2011 cruise booked also, and a funny thing ,8 familys from our cruise from 2 weeks ago will be with us then.that one is on the back burner for now. Let's focast on May22,2011. What is going to be the name of our cruise???????? SOMEBODY...ANYBODY??

And you could go to the movies in your P.J. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Well, I WANT to blame this on my TA. (Because she is the one that REALLY changed us this time)

We were kinda playing Russian Roulette. The first time we moved was because I FINALLY added on the family to the reservations. (I had only booked me because the deposit for all of us was going to be $1,600 for both cruises) Because of wanting the same room for both cruises (B2B) we needed to move. (It was the chance we took by only booking one person) Which was great because Deck 5 is where the kids clubs are and seeing that we are bringing the kids I thought it would be good.

Then my TA informed me a Cat 5C opened up on both cruises to get us away from the kids running in and out of the kids clubs and up and down the halls and it wasn't going to cost much more. (I hadn't thought about the wired for sound kids!!)

We are also booked on the Sept 22nd, 2011 cruise (We will be saying goodbye when you say hello!!) and we are on Deck 10. (Just DH and I and we wanted a higher up deck) So knowing that we liked the higher deck and this Cat 5C would be on Deck 7, she told me about it and then moved us!!

She also informed us that more FL Discounts happen for Cat 5's. So even though we would LOVE to be in a Cat 4 to have a bigger room, we are staying with Cat 5 to HOPEFULLY get a discount!! :worship: So NOW all four of us are booked on both cruises.

SOOOOOO this SHOULD be our last move (unless we win the lottery!!) :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Sounds like you have a good T A to find that same room b2b stateroom for you. I always use DCL people. :thumbsup2
