hi all, we will be going down in May and we are trying to look at all aspects, we are DVC owners but we would like to stay at AKL for 6 nights and the points for that stay is just ridiculous, so we ahd thought about renting some of our points out and using that money and make our ressie.now getting to the dream maker gold package, this really sounds like a good deal to us for 6 nights it is 4442.00 but that has no discounts on it yet, so it will definetly be cheaper than that. my question is, has anyone done the dream maker gold package, and what are your thoughts on it? we just think for us that it is going to be a good deal because we want to do some of the tours and 3 meals a day and all the recreation included, to us it just really sounds like the thing for us to do.what are your thoughts?
thanks in advance, misty:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We did the Deluxe Magic Plan (equivalent to Gold plan)
in 2001. We found it so worth the $ we are doing the gold plan this May. We always ate at sit down restaurants-tried new and different things on the menu that you probably wouldn't even look at if you were paying each time, we golfed a couple of times, wakeboarded, parasailed, minigolfed every course a couple of time, did tours and thoroughly enjoyed La Nouba (don't miss this show). We go for 10 days, spend 4 or 5 touring parks, then do everything else for 5 or 6 days, and do the parks in the evenings for fireworks, spectromagic, evening parades etc.
I would definately recommend the Gold package if you are going to use all aspects, otherwise you might want to consider the Silver package where you can use "wishes"for meals and recreation etc. It is less $ and perhaps more useful to some people.

I'm not sure I would count on a discount. Or at least not a huge one. While the packages have been discounted before, the better deals are for room only. But hopefully you'll see something soon for May. :)

I like the idea of the packages, but we have APs and you can't add the meals and recreation without passes :(

We will be doing gold dreammaker in about a month. I'll post back and give my opinions on the pkg.

To MomRules -
What kind of discount did you get going with AAA? What other savings did you receive with AAA? I need to start planning our trip and don't know where to begin. Thanks.
