Dream July 27, 2012 5 night

Thank you all, for the congrats on my pregnancy!!! :)

I will include you, Galatea, on my FE. :).

Can't wait for our cruise!!!

Hi cctimmom/Julie,

Thank you! Thank you!! Can't you tell that I'm just all over the place and a wee bit overly zealous and excited? LOL.I do apologize if I asked too many questions.

Participating room:
6532 - 2 Adults (Me & BF)
6534 - Nephew 1 (age 13) & Nephew 2 (age 9)
6536 - 2 Adult (SIL & Brother)

(I hope they dont' see this board, cause I am putting their name in the bucket before they say yes. :thumbsup2 but I know they'll enjoy it)

Jacquieone: Thank you! I'm trying very hard to be creative with my gifts that is yet to be seen.

I'm still wondering how I am gonna make or create a FE. I might have to wing it, for I am not crafty person. I do plan to make/adjust/create something that reflect our nerdiness family. Ok, just me, bf, rest of the family minus my mom and grandma. They are cool one, we're just nerdy lol.

Last: I just log on to Disney site: Its still saying Day 3 is Nassau and Pirate night. So, Day 2 is semi-formal according to cctimom's phone convo with disney. So confusing!!!
At least they haven't change the itinerary since we're thinking of doing Parasailing on first CC stop.

I just called... he stressed that NOTHING IS SET IN STONE.

But his computer is telling him that as of right now, that Pirate Night is still scheduled for the SEA DAY.

He said the night we leave Port Canaveral is a "Casual Dining" night... Day 2 is the Semi-Formal night... Day 3 is Casual... Day 4 is Pirate Night (he didn't mention Day 5, I assume since I was calling about Pirate Night).

He said I could call back within the two week window to see if it's changed, but for now that's what he's showing.

Any word or reviews about if they are child friendly? Their website says "all ages" and they performed on Nickolodeon, which are good signs but I am going to see if I can find out more.

I didn't read the whole post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2740157) but I saw some comments about adult show vs. not and how the adult show wasn't super raunchy... BUT.... I would venture to guess they perform in Evolution, and I THINK it's adults only????? (I should know since I was on the ship last October, but we didn't bring the kids then, so I wasn't paying attention to any signs saying "no children"... but when i was in there, I didn't notice any)

Looking at the Navigators someone posted from an early June cruise similar to ours, they were the main show in the Walt Disney Theater one night (on that cruise they were on Pirate night). Doesn't say anything about age restrictions. Then there is a separate listing for them on a different night in Evolution that says adults only (I think they might do the adult only show twice but there is part of navigator missing from the ones I was looking at).

Realistically, what is the difference between casual and semi-formal dining? I seem to get lots of different answers on this one...

You are awesome, Cctimmon. Thank you so very much!! :duck:

George: As far as I know, semi-formal wears usually mean gentlemen wear button down shirt and slack with dress shoe. A tie and suit jacket is a nice touch but not needed.

For the lady is slack, blouses, button down shirt, dresses (think Sunday cocktail party type) with heels or dress shoe or sandal. You can dress or be as elegant as you like or bit down aslong deem still appropriate for evening. When I see semi-formal for any event, I immediately think business attire.
No flipflop, shorts, jean or t-shirt is what I know as semi-formal.
Casual of course is everything goes, except bathing suit and nakeness :cool1:

Hope it make sense.

can we bring snacks on board the cruise? My DH is obsessed with these macaroons and I wanted to surprise him with some for our first night.:lovestruc

As long as they are in sealed commercial packaging, yes (but not if they're homemade).

Excellent, thank you very much. That helps my packing quite a bit. Now to see what kinds of dress clothes still fit my son. :)

baked goods from a specialized bakery ok? or is that considered as homemade? its definitely not like an oreo or chips ahoy packaging, but it is packaged in a very nice box.

From DCL Website:

Question
What food or food storage containers are not permitted?
Answer
Food coolers containing personal snack foods and drinks may not be brought onboard. They are only permitted if needed for medications, baby food or items related to special dietary needs.

Homemade, pre-cooked or other perishable items plus any open snack containers cannot be brought on board. Limitations on permitted food items are directly related to concerns for food safety and contamination prevention.

Disney Cruise Line regrets that the crew members on board are unable to provide food preparation, refrigeration or storage for personal food or beverage items. Disney Cruise Line cannot verify the cleanliness of the environment in which pre-cooked or homemade food items were prepared, and so for the safety of all Guests and crew, these items are not permitted aboard the ship.

I dunno...how sealed and commercial looking is the nice box? :confused3

Edited to add: you might try asking on the main board...perhaps others have tried something similar?

Thanks. I called disney directly and they pretty much said the same thing. I will definitely as on the main board, great idea!

Is there a way to know how fully a cruise is booked? I'm curious if we will have a full ship, seems how the FE group for our cruise seems comparatively small.

I'm wondering if there is a fridge in the cabin? It'll be nice since I am aware you can bring your own drink on board. I plan to bring some bottles of water and bottled juice to keep in room. A fridge would be great.

It's more of like an ice box of sorts... I don't know if it's considered a full fledged refrigerator that is cooled to a certain temp. It'll definitely keep water and juices cool.

Is this the final FE list? I know we've had a lot of new folks in this thread in the last week or so but not clear if they're in the FE or not? I ordered some items for my FE and need to know in the next day or so if I need to try and order more.

Also, are we going to do a meet up on the cruise? This is our first time so I don't know how these usually work (when/where etc).

Two weeks to go! :cool1:

as far as I know... this is the latest and greatest.

I guess this is the "speak now or forever hold your peace"... lol

I think I have exactly enough for the women (I ordered 10, so if I take me and my (teen) daughter out of it, I have just enough). For the guys... I'm making something so I should be ok there. And for the kids, I ordered stuff, but it should be enough regardless since I overordered.
