Dream July 27, 2012 5 night

ugh... all of those people in Nassau at one time. I really wanted to do something fun in Nassau with the kids, but now I think it'll be mayhem... I know Oasis can hold about 8K in passengers and crew... and then the 4-6K from our ship... not sure what the NCL holds... but that's allota people

Eeeek!! DH & I weren't sure about getting off the ship in Nassau, and with this new info, we probably won't!! Thanks for the heads up!

Any thoughts on when the FE group should be closed, so we may start planning?? 60 days out?? 30 days out?? :confused3

Getting so excited for our cruise!! :cloud9:

Found this on the main board... "how full is your ship"... if this is right, our ship is only 53% full, which might explain why we have a slow roll call.

Click on Disney on the left, then click on which ship, then which sailing...

I did excursions and online check in last night. Anyone else? All cabanas gone (except one on Serenity Bay on second CC day) not that I wanted one. It seemed like Palo and Remy were still wide open.

I have to agree that our sailing is probably not very full. Many may have gone with the 7 day Fantasy leaving on the 28th. I was very tempted as well. We will get to the Fantasy but we would like the price to come down--wishful thinking I'm sure.

Wow. I am surprised to hear the ship is only 53% full. I was trying to justify the higher summer price we are paying, thinking that the ships are more full in the summer. Oh well!! We are first timers, so no bookings for us yet, come on May 13th!! :) Are Palo dinner and brunch still available??

I told myself all day that I would stay up and book right after midnight... and I did stay up, but TOTALLY FORGOT (derrr) to log in. lol

I went in around noon time today and was able to book a Couple Swedish Massage for MH and myself on 2nd night (after Castaway Cay), and then a Palo Brunch on the Day at Sea. I considered doing a dinner, but I really don't want to miss dinners with the kids.

After much back and forth, we decided NOT to book the Blue Lagoon Dolphin excursion. MH and I did the sea lion one last October, and we have done dolphins with the kids in Cozumel. Although there was part of us that really wanted to do it again, especially my son, the realistic side said why pay the $650. It was great fun, but not something we felt we HAD to do again given the expense. So, our plan in Nassau is to enjoy the ship, and maybe get off and walk around for a little bit, but no real pressure or stress.

I was a disappointed to find out that we can't book any appointments for my daughter at the Chill (teen) spa until we board. I actually called to verify. They said you have to do it once on board. Sigh... one more thing to remember to do. But, I suppose once we board, MH and son can run up to start getting a bite to eat, and I can take her to Chill to make her appointment.

This is FINALLY starting to feel real to me... getting really excited!

hi all... I have updated the roll call but am not at my computer to be able to post it... I will try to do tonight. Welcome aboard to our new travelers!!!

Just booked this sailing today for our first ever cruise! So excited- I don't know how some of you have waited so long as I think I'm going to go nuts waiting for less than 3months!

Anyway, it will be my family of 5 (Me, DH and 3 girls ages 7, 3 and 1) and my in-laws.

The FE thing sounds neat but I think its a bit too much for DH...I gotta ease him into this ;) Hopefully I can still hang out in this forum if we're not participating and I hope to meet some of you onboard!

Can anyone who already has access to booking PAs etc tell me if there are still openings in the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter? As first timers our window opens this weekend and we're hoping to book this for 2 of our girls as b-day gifts. If its already full I want to discuss what our group might want as an alternate plan.

TIA!

Hi,

My family lives in Central Florida and we have been longtime WDW passholders. I have used these boards so many times for various tips but I've never posted until now. We have a daughter that has a food allergy so I have often searched these boards to see others' experiences. Disney is the very best when it comes to handling those things.

Now, we have booked our first Disney Cruise. It will be the first cruise for our girls, 10 and 7, and everyone's first time on DCL. Honestly, with our daughters' allergy, DCL was the only choice for us.

I just found out about the FE. Before I join the FE, can someone tell me how "into it" their children were?

Someone had asked if others had planned excursions. We plan to do the Stingray Adventure. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about that.

Does anyone know what sizes of bikes are on Castaway Cay? I have read that they have some with training wheels. Although we don't need training wheels, we do need a small bike. My DD rides a bike with 12" wheels at home.

we rode the bikes there last time, but it was just MH and me... no kids, so I don't recall the kids' sizes.

I will just say, that was the best hour -- renting those bikes! Tooling around the island (and who knows when the last time I rode a bike) was so incredibly fun!

BTW- my name is Andrea and I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are in 6600 and 6602.

Thanks!

About the bikes- we bought the package thingy that has 1hr of bike rental. Is that enough time? How much time did you spend riding around the island (its pretty small right)? I'm assuming its not a big deal to add on additional hours once you're there (?).

LAKDAR- we have a gluten free person in our party (my FIL). I don't know what allergy your DD has but if you get any good tips or info on the best ways to handle food allergies let us know! I've done some reading online and we've already had our TA put it in our reservation.

Pharmama - Yes, we also had TA note DD's allergy in our reservation. She is allergic to nuts. So, it can be avoided but SERIOUS problems if she eats or touches it. Gluten is a really hard one to avoid. Since I am always reading labels, I see it in the most surprising places. Hope they "wow" your FIL with great meals.

We've had tons of great experiences at WDW. In fact, DD just ate with us at Epcot's Japanese Steak House with no problem. I NEVER thought that I would see the day that she could eat Asian food (lots of peanut sauces). Hope cruise is the same. I have pretty high expectations.
