Dream Items Making People Greedy? .:Rant:.

Ranch, to be completely honest, I don't "hate" you because you are rich.

In fact, when I first started playing in March of 2006, I admired you. I thought your rooms were amazing, the size HUGE. You are an artist when it comes to room design.

Then you whined about not winning a Best Room award. That left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Then you made fun of a picture of me that was my avatar. That made me feel disgusted by you.

Months afterwards, you go and bring that avatar back so that you can get a cheap laugh at my expense. That made me hate you.

It has nothing to do with your "methods" of gathering your wealth. It's ingenious. But not for a second do I believe you to be a good person.

I used to be comfortable with complaining and moaning here, it's what a portion of threads here consist of. I felt right at home, until moaners started moaning about my moaning lol.. We're a bunch of talking kettles pointing out colors! I'm not flaming anyone by all means, but like it or not, it's facts. Being that moaning has grown more rampid than ever, and is pushing VMK to the brinks of extinction (sp?), I thought I'd give it another shot. Not about the way the event is being handled, but about the dreams that will be denied throughout, and thereafter. But once again, I learned, even "not a good person" like me can't fit in. Daahh well..

And where you there when I made my park accounts mtshdlcdoc? Didn't think so, who's say to say friends and family didn't make accounts with me, and hand over the ears and live out the accounts themselves? Like licking up a tootsie roll pop, the world may never know..

And I don't recall judging people for seeking staff in my room and disappearing, Cat, and I'm afraid I can't apologize to you for your not liking my response to such stalking, but it's cool.. how about telling/forcing me to respond to such nonsense that is deemed appropriate to you? Awesome.

For the record, I never booted anybody that won dreams. And I also learned
that Cruiselinefan rocks at Disney movie trivia. And for the most
part, people were well behaved. I booted people who either insulted me or
told me how boring I was. And I booted those who I didn't know
who only wanted to know if I had seen a host, if I had hosts on my list, etc.
They only seemed to want to be there to camp out for a host.

Truth be told, I would have rather had a visit from any staff who would have
considered the room for Best Guest. I want to submit my quest room for
Best Quest, but would that be considered greedy for trying to complete a
goal?

Hugs Briar. Sorry I didn't have a chance to visit. I just wanted to say that however you choose to deal with rude people is your choice. Personally, I would rather try and explain to people that there is no reason to be rude. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, it's just my way. I had a stranger title me stupid yesterday..for no reason whatsoever. Many who knew me were ganging up on that person, saying not nice things to them. Instead, I would rather be peaceful and try to turn just one person around in the game. Who knows...maybe I'm secretly wishing for a "pay it forward" sort of deal, where if I'm nice to someone who isn't, they'll realize that there is no reason to be rude anymore. The first day when everyone in my room won ears, I cannot tell you how many more people came in and asked about hosts. Then I was in another room wearing my new ears, and there were even more questions. People were saying their dreams were never going to come true. I let them know that it was only the first day -- that they had all month long to win a dream. People would think that whatever room we were in, wearing the ears, that's where the hosts were. They even wanted to know the name of my room so they could title theirs the same! I'd rather educate these people. When I got tired of all the questions, I took off my ears.

On another note...I do hope VMK makes it so many, many more people get dreams items. And if they're not tradeable, why should we be allowed to win more than one item if we can't share it?

I didnt say you did or did not, but you did say you "secret" was leaving teh parks and having 15 account waiting for you. That is clearly muling. Personally, I do not give a rats behind if you mule or not, but it is pretty brazen to announce the fact on here. Muling is against VMK values and you are clearly muling. You can backtrack on your own comments all you want, but thats the facts as you gave them.

And was it really nessecary to butcher my name like that? C'mon, thats so blatant it isnt even funny. Get a clue dude.

My neighbor just got a brand new car and her kids go to private school.
I drive a piece of junk and my son started 5th grade in a PUBLIC (gasp) school.
But you know what people THATS LIFE
you can't have everything, some work more than others to get what they have, others are just lucky.
It is a GAME people, the world is not going to end if you don't get a castle room.
Just play the game as it was meant to be played! If you see a host and get a dream...BONUS!
I know a few pwople over in Iraq right now that would give their right arm to be able to sit in their livingroom plaing VMK right now, but unfortunatly they are fighting for your freedom and you are crying about a virtual item.
Give it a break people there are things in this world so much more important.

You know what? Lol, greed.

IT happens. It's in everyone. For example, I can ask you what you'd do with a million dollars, and you'd probably say "Donate to Charity!" or something, right? But, 9 times out of 10, if I actually GIVE you the million dollars, you'll forget your little charity and keep it. It's greed. We, as human beings, have it.

So, you know what? Why are we all getting surprised when people, in an online game where they aren't forced to use their actual names, are acting greedy? Our greed, in combination with anonymity, which usually causes then whole "being-a-jerk" thing to take a gigantic step forward, and people are constantly bothering people asking if items came by, and insulting them when they don't give them the answer they want? Madness!

Here's the thing. Along comes an item. Brand new, relatively hard to get. And, woah! People are going crazy to get the item?! Weird! As others have said, give it time, and this will settle down. If you're surprised that people are suddenly trying to befriend you because you have RARE ITEM X, and then hate you when you don't give it to them, then there's a problem.

These words that you quite did not understand were not a response to pirates assumption of my "hoarding" and winning for the "upmteenth (what a word, I know) time".. it was only four times yo.. not a big number to forget for someone who knows so much about me. It was a response to correct the following conculsion that was put in the form of a possibility from a third

While yes, 3BM knows a bit more about me than most, the assumption to my reply was off-base, a reply that was within reason, by observing what's being said, because I know me better than anyone else. But if we were observing what's being said.. I wouldn't have to be explaining it huh? Intuitive! (Ahhhh secret word whaaaa ahhhh haha!)

What was assumably preceived as a possible, "guilty consciouns (correct form)", was in fact, nothing more than a proclamation (secret word ahhhhhhhh haha) in voice and opinion, an excerise of freedom of speech (within bounds of respect, of course..) that makes our country and the internet so great.

I don't proclaim (ahhhhh haha) that this will be understood, just the fact that such a term needs to be explained, it already gives me doubts, but hey, I hope I've enlightened ya mthslurdoc!

And no, the words did not fit, I would explain it, but I figure you had passed third grade English. Guess I was wrong. My kids are older so I have no need to delve into Elementary school grammar at the moment. Maybe in a few years when my youngest gets into school, but not right now.
