Dream -inside strooms - more prone to sickness for first timers?

We are thinking on a 9 nights cruise on the Dream in Europe next year…

Do the stateroom class affect the sea sickness possibilities?

Debating between booking inside -mid ship; or verandah mid/fwd

Class doesn't particularly affect it. The biggest factor is location of room. Typically, the lower and more center point of the ship is "best" in regards to sea sickness. Forward gets more up and down motion, while higher on the ship can get more side to side motion.

Also, a good idea to have at least a window (porthole), so that you can see the horizon.

Midship decks 6 or 7 would probably be where you want to be. Not any higher if worried about seasickness. I hate the super lower decks like deck 2-3 becsuse to me that is too low.

I will say if I am feeling seasick a bit of fresh air and a breeze does help. So a verandah can be nice to have, although you can replicate the effect by going for a walk/finding a lounger on the promenade or lido deck. However, I agree midship is best so I'd rather be midship in an inside than forward with a verandah. If it is between midship of each, and verandah is in the budget, it can be useful.

The best thing is just to medicate, frankly. I recommend Bonine as it is nondrowsy and over the counter.

One of our kids is sensitive to motion and we found that having a verandah was beneficial for us as we could sit outside where the fresh air combined with a view of the horizon really helped. We have always stayed midship except for one cruise where we had a forward stateroom and we definitely noticed the motion more in the forward cabin,
