Hey all. Staying Concierge level on the Dream and I keep hearing that these doors have a wood veneer over the metal doors. I have Staples Magnetic Sheets that I was planning on printing some door decorations on for the kids. Will these tick or do I need to do something else? I'm not opposed to purchasing something else, just don't want to bring a heavy duty magnet with me and have it near any of or electronics/ gear.
TIA!

Everything I have read here has been that you need a stronger magnet for the Concierge door. We do Concierge and I have not seen any decorated doors on our cruises. Not to say you can't, just use a stronger magnet

Having travelled in concierge on the Fantasy, and normally doing cruise magnets, I would say do not bother. The wood veneer makes it almost impossible to stay there, and to be honest the cruise magnets didn't look appropriate in that section.

I saw no magnets last year. However, I did make a small pennet banner for my parents' fish to acknowledge their 50th anniversary. That was the only door decoration I saw.

That was a great idea as an alternative to door decorations! Good thinking!!

Thank you all! I was wondering if anyone even did them with the wood. I just didn't want to feel like I should have done them and didn't. Now to come up with a craft for all of this magnet paper!!

The magnetic sheets will not work. I used post it notes sheets.

Just saying: NO adhesives are supposed to be used. You could get fined for damages to the door.

The post it notes do not damage the finish. Someone used some type of tape with a strong adhesive that did damage a door.

I used standard magnetic sheets for our door decorations in concierge on the Fantasy and they didn't work :(. I'm hearing that concierge doors can be decorated with magnets but they have to be really strong. I hope I can find out what brand of sheets to buy before our next cruise in May!

We recently traveled concierge and saw no door decorations using magnets. We did see a decoration for a birthday- no magnets used and the room steward must have helped them with placing balloons and notes on their sign overlay that was put on the door! There were a few Fish Extenders though.

The magnetic sheets (brown rubber-type fridge magnet stuff) don't work on Concierge doors. You need to get the stronger magnets. Most people who do get the neodymium magnets.

It's interesting that you saw balloons as that is an item listed as 'prohibited' in the DCL cruise line information FAQs (https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/prohibited-items/list/):
Kites, balloons, surfboards, wave boards, inflatable floats, pool noodles, inflatable pools and wagon

The only reason I'm mentioning it is that during our upcoming cruise we will be celebrating my friend's 50th birthday and I looked up what things we could/could not bring on board to decorate the stateroom.

Hmmm.....I did not realize this. They were smaller in size, maybe 5-6 inches in diameter. I do realize that some people have a latex allergy, but don't know if these were. Definitely not obtrusive though.

Has anyone seen door decorations on concierge doors recently? We are cruising in October.

That's because they don't want the possibility that a balloon may wind up on an open deck and fly overboard. They could be penalized for pollution if that were to happen.

I know when they have parties that have balloons in the atrium, at the end of the party, there are CMs at the exits making sure none of the balloons make it out.

What about placing magnets on the inside of the doors? I know we placed magnetic decorations on the inside of our non concierge door. If the inside doors are similar to the non concierge, the OP could decorate the inside door (not quite the same but still cute)

We did the Dream in April and were the only door decorated on our side of Concierge. We had a fish extender as well. Somewhere I had seen neodynium magnets worked so I bought some on amazon for our door and they did! It was our first cruise and we enjoyed seeing the door decor elsewhere!
