Dream Along With Mickey Ending?

I'm just trying to understand this....so there won't be any show at all in front of the castle before wishes? I'm wondering if I should cancel my wishes FP+. :(

I'm scheduled for the 9th of april right now and the announcement indicates that the current show ends on the 2nd and the new one debuts "this summer."

There is usually some downtime between things like this. They will likely do a bit of work on the stage and they have to get the cast members up to speed with the new show. Jedi Academy was down for a month or so while it was upgraded/replaced.

They could avoid it if they wanted to throw money at the problem... but we know they don't. ;)

Why such a long dark period between the two shows? Seems they could continue the castle show for a while longer.

Dream along with Mickey is not the show before Wishes. I believe you're thinking of Celebrate the Magic.

I am so disappointed that I won't get to see the Dream show. I was so looking forward to it. Oh well, I guess if it's been 10 years it was time for a change. Still bummed though

I think you're missing my point. I'm suggesting the reason they have less meet and greets is because statistically less people want to meet them. I'm not saying "nobody wants to meet them", just less people. At Disney World the focus is on volume. And yes of course their line is at capacity when they are there, because they have limited availability. That doesn't speak to their popularity.

Personally I think they should have more meet and greets in general, not less. But I still feel comfortable calling them less popular characters.
I love the M&G in the parks and have happily spent hours with my DGD waiting for her to meet her "friends", but what may look like popular characters in terms of lines may be be misleading. Disney provides many ways to meet characters and if it is not fiscally responsible to keep certain ones out in the parks, but makes sense to keep them in the character meals, they will do so. I know that we like the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine, but took the kids to dinner to meet them. WE stood in the lines that there was not that option available.

I think you mean celebrate the magic, the show that is just before Wishes. The Castle show that is being replaced has been showing several times a day for years, and while it is cute, I know I am ready for a new one.

I will say that by far, CTM is really worth getting a good spot. It is one of my favorites.
