Dream 8a

I'd still LOVE to see 6016 if anyone is going to be in that room anytime soon!

You know - I may just get bold enough to go knock on doors and ask if I can see the layout and explain about the different rooms - not take pictures of them, but make notes of how they are different than ours OR since we are doing a B2B ask our host/hostess if the morning everyone else gets off if I can look around in those rooms (without being in his/her way - after all the guests have left. I will not promise anything but I will give it a try one way or another :)

I am actually in room 5518 which is a 8A on Feb 24th. I will take lots of pictures. I am also on Feb 27th so may not post them until after that cruise. I thought for sure someone would post them before my trip. :sad2:

Krisann, if anyone is brave enough it is you, I wonder if you could do that between the two cruises?

We are especially interested in 6014, the HCP room.

It would be interesting to know if all the Deck 6 8A rooms have the same layout, with the large room with support beam, and split bath, even though there was just the one picture of it a few weeks ago. The more pics the better.

The few Deck 5 8A pics that were posted show it has having the split-room layout.

Would be nice to have some more comparison pics to go by, as I'm on the 2012 Fantasy 8A room 6016.

When the guy called two weeks ago from DCL and left a voice mail, he said something about them trying to find out what the layout would be, as sometimes things change during the building process. So could that mean the Fantasy 8A rooms will look different than the Dream?

:rolleyes1 Thanks!!! I may try some during the cruise and if I do not get all of them - but hey I am only talking 12 cabins (and I have 2 of them)

hmmmm maybe I will take some extra gifts and bribe the people to let me come in and look!

I will just explain . . . . inquiring minds NEED to know!

I'm interested in seeing pictures of this room, especially the bathroom. My TA recently booked me in that room on the Fantasy, but we changed it after the description said it has a shower only, and no tub, which makes me think it has the accessible layout (at least on the Dream.) I wonder if they'll be updating any of these aspects on the Fantasy, to either do what is needed to make them accessible as originally planned, or to remove the existing accessible features if they aren't classified as accessible.

Just lurking at see if krisannB posts any pics of her rooms as we're booked in 6514 next year.:goodvibes
Hope everyone is having a smooth check-in and they all have a wonderful time! Can't wait for our turn!

We are sailing in 6510 and 6514 on Feb. 27 and I will take and upload pictures before we leave port canveral of the 2 rooms - most likely to my facebook but will come over here and give a link. That will help with those two rooms - if 2 weeks would just hurry up!

Krisann

Looking forward to your pictures today as we have 6514 booked on a Fantasy cruise!

It seems like the 8A's are a real mixture. Yes, larger room, but some without split bath's and privacy curtain. Also some sleep 3 and some sleep 4. It would be great to have list compiled with what particular features are in the room. We would be okay with an 8A, but we need to sleep 4 and want the privacy curtain and the split bath. Anyone have idea's on what 8A rooms these might be? TIA

I'm in 6016 next year on the Fantasy. If it's built the same as the Dream, then it would have the pole and not the divider wall. But who knows for sure if there may be changes on the new ship. It looks like none of the 8A rooms have the split bath, but I think the single bath is larger?

Since it would be my mom and myself on the cruise, I'm not sure if it's better to have the single "open room" with the poll, or the "mini suite" type with the dividing wall. I liked the idea of the "mini suite" type on Deck 5, but then it's like having two 'smaller' rooms, where the others on Deck 6 are open and may have better sense of 'space'. We were on a 3-day Dis cruise a couple years ago in a Veranda room, and we felt squished in there.

There is no guarantee, but I would guess the staterooms on the Fantasy will be the same - perhaps they'll tweak other things in the common areas (pools, etc), but I am doubting staterooms would be different. According to this website, they did room tours on the Dream, and they say all 8A rooms have a single bath.

The one room they show has an accessible bath, so it is larger. Not sure about the other ones...........
