i went with avery...pack of 5 sheets for $8 and change. got three packs and free shipping. was thinking of the other brand...LD...pack of 20 for $24.99 but wanted to go with a brand I knew.

We are -

2 A - room 7552

1 A (although is my 20 year old daughter considered an adult for this?), 2 C - 16, girls - room 7554

I am not creative at all, I have no artistic ability, so I will not be wowing anyone with anything hand made. Trust me, it is better this way! I don't want to hear the laughter all over the ship when you all see something I attempted to make!

So now what do I do? Make a list of all the people going and start finding little things for the extenders? Whatever I buy has to fit into little pockets, correct?

Now I shall figure out what to buy. I do love to shop so this will be fun!

I added you to the list. I think your 20 year old DD should be listed as an adult. The kids gifts are probably more geared toward younger children. But I'll leave it up to you. I can change it if you want me to.

It's up to you if you want to print out the list now. When we officially close the list, I'll put it on either Word or Excel and email it to anyone who wants a copy.

The next step is to figure out what you want to give for gifts. It doesn't have to fit in the pockets of the fish extender but you would have to figure out a way to hook it onto or attach to or sit on the extender. You can do gifts for each cabin or do individual gifts....totally up to you. If you did a search on fish extender gifts on the disney cruise forum, you should pull up some threads that can help with ideas.

over the weekend we went to Michaels and picked up the supplies to start making our FE gifts.

also ordered magnetic paper from amazon for our cabin door magnets.

How exciting!! My DS7 and I have had so much fun working on these projects together - still have a lot of work left to do with putting it all together. I have found that the ideas seemed so much easier in our head than when we actually implemented them! Oh well, it has given us something to do to pass the time! We are now down to double digits!

As I said, I am not crafty at all, the crafty one is doing her internship in FL, so she is no help to me! My sewing machine hates me, but if I can talk my husband into it, maybe he can sew something. The sewing machine likes him, go figure.

Yup, makes sense to have my 20 year old as an adult. She will be 21 a month later, though she is still a child at heart. As are her parents!

i also know there is a thread that explains step by step how to sew one. I used that and sewed mine by hand.

I got mine from Gradysmommy on Ebay. Just search FE or by her seller name. She does fabulous work and you can customize everything, colors, icons, etc. It took about a month because and it was perfect! You can also get a canvas bag from Michaels, Joann's etc and iron on a graphic from one of the Disginers and hang it up. I did this for a friend and she loved it.

Ok, I went shopping with the girls today, and we got some stuff for the Fish Extender Exchange! Darn, it is easy to spend too much money on this stuff!

One question though - is anyone here from the Chicago area? This is very very important, as I don't want to duplicate something that someone else might buy that is from Chicago. Though I suppose there won't be any complaints if it is duplicated!

so far no DIS meet. I don't think anyone has tried to organize one.

Hi Mary, I updated the FE list with your revised info.

if you go to the FAQ sticky thread in the main cruise forum there is info on the FE or you can do a search using FE as the keyword. there are lots of threads on this. I can answer specific questions....

the FE will hang from the fish or seahorse that is next to each cabin door. you can give one gift to each cabin or individual gifts to each person. your gift can be one item or multiple items. you can give the gift once for the whole trip or give gifts multiple times on the cruise. it's totally up to you how you want to do it.

So is the list on the first page the final list? Shall we start our shopping and planning (thought I already did, but I tend to get overexcited about things anyway)?

Having never done this before, I don't know whether or not we have a lot of people. I had just kind of planned on assigning certain decks to me and DH and then to my girls when it came time to pass out our gifts. Shouldn't take too long to pass out the gifts then, right? Although I am still comparing ship size to the Magic or Wonder, so I may be surprised and have lots of walking on the Dream!

Though that may be ok, 'cause then I can eat more dessert! And drink of the days!

I am also no help with guidelines, though I assume whatever we give has to fit in the fish extenders or hang from the fish?

This means, of course, that I won't be giving you all the new sailboats I was going to buy, thinking we could do a boating meet and great. Oh well, guess I will just have to find something smaller for everyone. I don't know how to sail anyway, so this may have been for the best!

Now me, I like gold. A nice gold bracelet or earrings, yes that would fit perfectly in my fish extender. Think something from NaHoku.com. Just ignore the rest of of my family, because if Mommy is happy, everyone is happy, so just make me, the Mommy, happy!

By my count which could be wrong.
We have 27 adults, 10 boys and 12 girls not inlcuding the nonconfirmed cabins.

I think it might be easier to split these but I'm open for ideas. I also countted 16 cabins not 19 as one post suggested but I need some help checking.
