Doesn't seem like anyone has started a thread yet for this five night sailing, so i'll go ahead. This will be our 13th Disney Cruise; hope it's lucky! Sailing to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation and get a chance to go on this new ship!

Anyone else joining us yet?

Thanks so much...it was always so crazy trying to figure out how people would label their cruise date...this is a very honorable service you are providing here!

We're in!!! Yes, finally returning to DCL:cloud9:
This will be our 5th DCL. We've done two 3 nights and an Eastern and a double dip Western. :grouphug:
One of our recent cruises was on the Crown Princess......gotta say I loved it just as much as DCL. We had an awesome group. :woohoo: and 9 nights. Adult areas were adult like DCL.
Last cruise was on NCL....it was good, but I don't think we'll cruise it again. There were no adult areas really. Kids in the bars till late and salt water pools. :sad2:
So we've been waiting for one of the new ships and saving those Disney Dollars!!:yay:

Cruise list: Ages of kids will be at the time of cruise. Please correct me if I'm wrong with any info.

Skylynx-Denise DH, DD-18, DS-15
Irish Cowboy

dbxazd-Robin, DH, DS-11, DD-8
musicgirl-Lorie and Bill
ranidayz- and DH,3 kids, MIL,FIL,BIL, SIL, and their 2 kids

We will be on this cruise!!! We are so excited about it...going to be a bgi group for us!

Sky and Irish,

You seem to have a number of 7 nights under your cruising belt. What brings you back to the 5 night? popcorn:: Is it the draw of the Dream?

It is for us. 5 nights will be way too short, but 2 stops at CC are awesome!

I so missed my smilies....:cheer2:

My last DCL cruise report had so many smilies I had to keep posting short excerpts because I had gone over my smilie limit per post!!!:scared1:

You'll find that I like to post alot when it comes to cruise meet boards. ;)

We are so looking forward to Serenity Bay. It has been my happy place for years. :hippie:

How is the menu that Serenity Bay? Last time on the 2nd stop at CC we had t-bones and lobster....:woohoo:

My husband did the catamaran sail and snorkel last time and said it was good. Has anyone done this recently?

I've been looking into the Nassau day. :surfweb: Yes, I'm an over achiever when it comes to planning vacations. I was thinking about doing a day pass at Wyndham or the Sheraton.

I have a goal to try to keep our cost as close as I can to my disney rewards dollars to pay for the entire cruise.:rolleyes1 We'll see!

This will be our second cruise...just wondering will there be a pirate night? Need to know if we need to get our outfits ready:):goodvibes

Thanks Lori......I am glad you like to plan.....just make sure you keep us al posted, still new to this and want to make sure we have everything covered! ANY help will be great!!

Well my dh and I are empty nesters this year, so while we've always taken our son, he'll be 20 and hopefully doing a co-op. The sooner he gets out of college the sooner HE gets to take us on a cruise!!:rotfl2::yay:

Btw, even though I said empty nesters.....we're very young ones somewhere in the mid 40's. :rolleyes1

I'm sure any questions asked can be answered by someone going on this cruise as it seems there have been a number of cruises taken. We missed the Gold CC membership by 1 cruise. Well this one will bring us up to 5 so we'll have to cruise again!!!:dance3:

Hello, everyone, and Happy New Year!

I'm delighted some more folks have joined us! There will probably still be some lulls in list traffic, but I'm sure it will keep growing and be REALLY busy this time next year!

We picked the longest Dream cruise we could go on...my DH and I tend to take the 7 day cruises on our own, and take the kids (well, teens, now) on the shorter ones so we can combine it with 3 or 4 days at WDW. We did take them on a 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Pearl to Alaska last summer...fabulous!

I was wondering about the Pirate party and costumes being carried over to the Dream...I sure hope so, as our entire family has tons of pirate gear and loves to dress up! DH and I also enjoy trotting out the formalwear...not sure if there will be a formal night on the 5 night Dream, but that's no matter...we'll be at Palo in tux and gown and black gloves regardless. Where else can you wear that stuff? We never miss the opportunity! On one of our earlier Western Magic cruises we got together with a bunch of other Disboarders that wanted to dress up-took great pictures in the atrium with dashing looking middle-aged guys and "seasoned" ladies sporting tiaras! We did our own all grown up princess thing ;-)

I am interested to see what the updates to Castaway Cay end up looking like, and if they change to flavor of the island. We'll be there next in July and November of this year. I figured they couldn't add all those extra passengers on the Dream without changing something.

So welcome again, everyone! I know it seems far away, but if you look at the final payment date 3 months before, it appears closer!

I would imagine there is a Pirate night since there is one on the 3 night.

There will be the 5 nights this summer, so that will give us a good idea how the activities will fall.

We probably won't get too dressed up for the formal night. When we did the 3 night, most people dressed up the night that they went to Tritons (or is it the other "fancy" restaurant. You can tell I haven't cruised in a while on DCL, I forgotten all the details. I generally wear nice dresses every night to dinner with dressy sandals. DH usually wears khakis with a shirt and tie and then he brings a jacket for the more formal nights.

We have the 6pm dinner seating. We picked it because we are always so hungry by then even though we can snack before. I want to save my appetite for dinner! But on second thought, that would give us more time before dinner on port days. Hmmmmm....decisions decisions.

When it comes to CC, the only thing that concerns me is Serenity Bay!! Oh yeah baby!! We will probably do the catamaran snorkel the one day and then just chill at Serenity Bay the other. We haven't ventured to the family beach or cookies since our 3 nights. We do like to start early to snorkel at the lagoon before we head to SB. We might have to check out the new family water area though.....and then head to heaven......

Hello there! We are super excited to be sailing on the Disney Dream in 2011! It's DH, me, DS (who will be 11 at time of sailing) and DD (who will be almost ( at the time of sailing). We've been on 2 DCL sailings previously - both on board the Disney Magic. Our first cruise was December 2007, and then we did the Christmas sailing in 2008. We absolutely love the DCL!! We can't wait to go back, but wanted to save those Disney dollars for one of the new cruise ships :goodvibes
We've also been to WDW several times, and are planning a huge family trip for this upcoming fall with my sister and her family, my brother and his family, as well as some close family friends! My sister and brother have been to WDW before (we went when we were teens), but they both have young children and spouses who have never been - so it's gonna be great! DH and I love the way you are treated at WDW and especially on board the DCL. DS (who is 9 now) and DD (who is 7 now) love the thrill rides and the FUN!
If there are any other DC (Disney Children) who would like a pen pal, both DS and DD would love it (well, at least DD would :lmao:)
I look forward to chatting & getting to know all of our fellow sailors!!
Robin

Welcome, Robin

We have two teenagers...my son will be 15 at the time of the cruise and my daughter will be 18. In fact, this cruise is to celebrate her high school graduation.

Maybe other folks have kids closer to your children's ages. Anyone?

Count us in! My FIL booked a family vacay on the Dream - we're so excited! My family has been on one Disney Eastern 7-night and is going on another this Spring on the Magic -- but totally psyched about the Dream!

Travelling with us with be MIL and FIL, me and DH and three kiddos, and BIL and SIL and their two kiddos. While they have all cruised, it will be FIL, MIL, BIL, SIL first cruise with Disney.

Do we have a name for this meet yet?:banana::banana:

On past cruise meets we have posted the disers and family members to keep track of everyone. I started one on #4 on page 1 so that it would be easy to find. I'm sure this thread will have a ton of people by cruise time.

If anyone does not want their information on this list, pleas let me know and I'll take it off. Or if I have any info wrong or that you would like me to add.

We're in!

My mom & I are surprising my dad for father's day (2 days before) with this cruise. :goodvibes

I haven't officially booked it yet, as I'm waiting to book it while onboard the magic this Sept. Gotta sneak away & book it while my mom keeps my dad busy. :rolleyes1

As of now, it will just be my parents (early 60s) & myself (mid 20s).

This will be my 5th disney cruise. I have cruised a 3, 4 & 7 day with DCL & am about to sail the 14 day WB Transatlantic this Sept.

I have also sailed with NCL & Princess. I don't have a favorite, as they all have their positives & negatives, but anything Disney has a special place in my heart. :lovestruc
