Dramatic Clouds

Any clouds. Something you really enjoyed taking. A picture where the clouds are so interesting, that they can draw your eye away from the intended subject - or they ARE the intended subject. Maybe add commentary about what was going on when you took it, why you like it, etc. No rules. You can "double-post" from another thread - after all, we might not visit that thread. I'll start.

- if you consider scale, this cloud is BIG - I have a similar one over the Wilderness Lodge which is readily recognizable as a statue of Mickey - looks fake / computer generated - only it is on film and my scanner doesn't work, so you'll have to take my word for it.

This cloud so was interesting, I kept taking pictures of it all around the monorail stops, while the sun continued to set and illuminate it with glorious colors...

Just remember if you upload a file over 150kb, photobucket will resize it. I try to keep images closer to 125kb just to be safe, not once has photobucket resized one for me.

that could be what is happening...since they are with the same camera and setting ( large fine) they should all be roughly close in size ...or so I thought but never are so must not be true...then the bitty one i couldn't get smaller then it shrank ...oh well, not life threatening

The colors of this sunset had me running for my camera, it's amazing how much they change and how quickly as the sun goes down.

Clouds are my life! OK, maybe not but I do spend lots of time photographing them. While I found taking photos of them interesting up in Massachusetts, here in Florida I've become a fanatic.

I have hundreds of cloud pictures and have chosen these as my top 10.

I only have one pic of a cloud, it's from Lake George 2005. I saw the cloud liked the way it looked and shot.

Here are 2 I took recently. Both posted in another thread, but since it also fits this here we go:
This one in Burlington, MA sunset after a huge thunder and lightening storm:

This one on the Cambridge/Boston line overlooking the sunrise over Boston Harbor:

Recently I've become more and more interested in photographing the sunsets and sunrises. They are best when the cloud cover is in more interesting patterns. I'll also have to start looking at just the regular ordinary cloud formations. They are pretty interesting.

This is one of my favorite photography subjects. I narrowed it down to 10 also. Unfortunately, I'm usually in the car and somewhere with the kids so I can't stop and frame the picture like I would like to.

These 2 are the same cloud, I took about 50 pictures of it. It had continuous lightning, within the cloud.

These 2 are the same cloud, I took about 50 pictures of it. It had continuous lightning, within the cloud.

July 05 hurricane dennis thought he would pay a visit on the day that we were supposed to drive to disney! We moved our leave time up by several hours and luckily missed driving in the worst part of it (although it never got bad really). Anyway, I thought this was a cool shot from our balcony at AKL
