Drama, Please End...Fun, Please Begin...A Sept TR Updated 10/31

That's awful about the sunglasses, but I don't understand how that would make someone want to leave the park!
Considering the crowds were so low during your trip, I'm REALLY surprised about DTD! How odd!

Great update again, Sophia.

We missed COP this year...darn. ;) That's where I take my nap every year.

Love your cousin kissing Buzz. And the heck with those giving the "eye"--Disney is for EVERYONE and we are kids when we are there too. :thumbsup2

I hate when DTD is that crowded and you can't walk around the stores...takes the "magic" out of it.

There are a couple of nappy rides as we call them...one could be CoP (but I like it too much to nap) and the other is definitely Ellen's at Epcot. Great snooze when it's hot out.

People were so dang rude this year. I guess they just wanted us to hurry up or something. :confused3

DTD was insanely crowded that evening. I think I've seen it like that maybe once or twice before.

I am loving your updates!!! Your pics are amazing. I think someone asked before, but I can't find your answer.......what kind of camera do you have???

Thanks. I used 2 cameras this trip. I used a point and shoot Cybershot and I also used a Canon Rebel Xti. I had three lenses for the Canon but used only two of them. The ones I used were the 28/135 and the 70/300 for the Wishes Dessert Party.

That's awful about the sunglasses, but I don't understand how that would make someone want to leave the park!

I'd be so mad if I lost mine. I got new prescription ones before the trip so I would have really been mad.

I don't remember who had EMH that night, but I think that people were probably so dang hot that they just headed to DTD that evening. It was also a Saturday night so I figure people were just getting there too.

Had to get caught up again...

I am jealous of your Buzz score! I've never come close to maxing it out, but I love the ride!

I totally agree about the Fantasyland construction... I hated it! We actually stayed out of that part of the park for the most part.

I've done that twice on Buzz so far. ;) I get such a kick out of beating DH because it is the ONLY game that I have EVER beat him playing!

Fantasyland was a real downer this trip. All that crap has to go!

Sophia, just checking in with you to see how you and Joe are doing (haven't seen an update in a while).

Have you ever done CoP? If not, you should defo put it on your list!!

I always wanted Joe to get picked to be "that guy."

Food is so worth it at Earl, but only if you are in the mood to stand in line. :lmao:

No Dave mentioned it, but we never really did go on it. Next year for sure :)

Well Dave has an idea about maybe how you can get picked, might get him to actually do it and get Joe in on it too :teeth:

I loved Earl, just thinking about the sandwich I had is making me want it. Disney Village in DLRP is going to open one up soon, another reason to try and visit again :teeth:

Hi Kathy, I'm finally back to do an update and to attempt to catch up on my subscribed threads. It's been about a week so I have a ton to catch up on. :surfweb:

What's Dave's idea on how you get picked? They both need to try it!!!

Day 10, our last full day at the parks. :sad2:

Well, here we are at our last full day at the parks. I was pretty bummed that morning as I hate to see a trip come to an end.

We decided to have breakfast at EPCOT. We were going to go to Sunshine Seasons.

We made our way to EPCOT and my cousin spotted this on the ground.

Disney2010Sony1597.jpg

Was it an intentional hidden Mickey???

We made sure that we all had our tickets with us :rolleyes1 this time.

Disney2010Sony1598.jpg

We headed right straight for The Land. There was no real wait for Soarin. Even though everyone was hungry, we decided to do Soarin first. Well, let me tell you. It was a hoot!!!

Disney2010Sony1599.jpg

I can't remember if my sister rode this time of not, but we got my cousin good! She kept asking me about the ride and does it go up high, etc. Well, we told her that she'd be watching a movie and wouldn't be too high off of the ground. She sat next to my mom and all we heard was "OMG Soph, I'm going to kill you!!" She kept closing her eyes and I heard her every once in a while saying to my mom "Aunt Alice, it's not a good time to open your eyes." I looked over at my mom and there she was with her eyes glued shut. I don't think she saw a dang thing. :lmao: My cousin didn't let up on me the rest of the trip. She didn't believe a word I said about anything we did from that point on.

We had breakfast after Soarin. It was yummy. I really enjoy Sunshine Seasons as they seem to have something for everyone. It is definitely one of my favorite CS places to eat.

Even though it was a bit early, we decided to make our way over to WS as we were hoping to get to meet up with Queen and Jasmine again. We were going to take the boat over but changed our mind and decided to walk. We needed to find the smoking section for my cousin. :rolleyes1

We stopped to ride Maelstrom. I love that ride...as lame as it is, I love it. We did a bit of shopping too. I was hoping that they'd have the matching gloves to the jacket that Joe got me last year. No such luck. They didn't have much this year, which was disappointing. My cousin did manage to get a Helly Hanson windbreaker though.

Next we moved to China where I got these awesome hair clips.

Disney2010Sony1758.jpg

My cousin did some shopping there as well. The guys got slushies that to me, were totally gross.

We stopped to meet Snow White in Germany. Our picture is so bad that I'm not going to post it.

I'm sure we did some shopping over there too as I cannot resist the stores of WS.

We then took the boat to Morocco. We were strolling along and then I spotted it....the grey goose slushie!!!!!! YAY!!

Disney2010Sony1621.jpg

We grabbed my slushie which I did not share with anyone and started walking so that we could meet Queen and Jasmine. I passed a few people that also had them as well as a group of ladies that asked me what I was drinking. I told them it was well worth every cent!!!

We finally caught up to them around the UK. I was happy to see them again. They were just starting their trip and we were just ending ours. I couldn't wait to hear all of the things that they were going to do on their two week adventure!!!

Joe decided to try the fish and chips in the UK since we've never done that before. I tasted them and man, are they good!

After chatting and saying our good bye's, we decided to go to Mouse Gear and then make our way back to the resort to rest up before our last evening and to get some last minute packing done.

As we headed toward Mouse Gear, I was a tad bit jealous that I was going to miss this since F&W had not started yet.

Disney2010Sony1627.jpg

We did some final shopping then walked to the car. Hey, check this out!!! We got the first spot in the row!!!!!!!! That NEVER EVER happens. Joe was excited, can't you tell???

Disney2010Sony1630.jpg

The plan was that we'd head back to the resort, take naps or whatever, pack and then get ready for our final DIS meet of the trip, dinner at Maya and then MK one last time.

I think most of us ended up taking a nap. Yeah, I know....last full Disney day and we were napping????? We wanted to be sure to get the most out of our evening and it was again a scortcher that afternoon.

We were meeting KatMark (Kathy and Mark) at the Laguna Bar at CSR for a drink before dinner. I was so excited to finally get to meet them!

We drove over to CSR and parked the car. We stayed there last year and it was nice to see the resort again. As we were walking to the door, Kathy spotted us and came over to greet us. It was like we have known each other for years.

We had a great time talking and honestly, the time went by way too fast. We talked about everything under the sun! They were headed to MK with MaryAZ and her two beautiful little girls that night.

We took a picture or two before they left for MK and we headed in for dinner at Maya.

Disney2010Sony1631.jpg

Dinner at Maya was fantastic!

Disney2010Sony1635.jpg

I also have to mention that we had the absolute best CM waiter of our entire visit. His name was Gilbert and I will ask for him when we go back.

Disney2010Sony1647.jpg

The bread there is fabulous!!!!!!!!

Disney2010Sony1637.jpg

Here are our dishes:

Check out the dish that Gilbert asked the chef to create for my nephew....an ITALIAN dishe at a Mexican/Spanish restaurant. :confused3

Disney2010Sony1646.jpg

Gotta love the churro...........

Disney2010Sony1649.jpg

After dinner we drove back to the resort. While I'd love to tell you the funniest part of the trip...I can't. My family would KILL me. Let's just leave it at that.

So, we got back to WL and I decided to take more pictures of the lobby. I just love that place!!!

Disney2010Sony1657.jpg

I was so happy to be spending our last night at MK............

Those hair clips are so pretty! And I won't front, I love Maelstrom, too! I don't think it's lame!
That's crazy that your nephew got PASTA at Maya Grill, but that just shows you how far Disney is willing to go to keep their guests happy!

i hate last days :( btw, that hidden mickey looked like a really messed up one lol!

so jealous but happy that you got to meet kathy and mark! they are great people!

Looking forward to reading your last installment about MK! Looking even more forward to your new PTR!!!

Today was DAK day. It was also 9/11. 9/11 is always difficult for me. I woke up that morning thinking about all of the people who lost their lives and left families behind, 9 years ago. I got myself together and woke Joe since we had an ADR at BOMA for breakfast and I didn't want to be late.

Adam and I were married on 09-11-01 but I always take a moment to remember those that died that day and those that are missing them.

Love those grey goose slushies, just wish they were a tad bigger :goodvibes

Very cute clips :cutie:

Thanks. I really loved them. They had a ton of them and I am looking forward to getting others next year...I hope that they still have them there.

Yep, pasta. Our waiter was awesome!!!

Thanks. Last days suck!

I wish we had more time with Kathy and Mark! I hope our trips cross next year too.

I have no clue what to call next year's PTR. Hopefully I will come up with something once I am done with my TR.

Adam and I were married on 09-11-01 but I always take a moment to remember those that died that day and those that are missing them.

I wish Disney would have done more of a memorial on 9/11 this year. I do the same...stop and take a moment to remember all those that died and those that are missing them. :sad2:

Very cute clips :cutie:

Me too! Although, I heard something that was interesting.....tell them that you don't want to spill all over yourself with the glass they give you and they will give it to you in a regular glass (beer type). :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

:rotfl: So you are the evil one in your group!?! I guess there has to be at least one. For me, it was my girls....lying to me about how they would take it easy on the tea cups and then spinning it until I was about sick. I didn't trust a word they said about rides the rest of the trip. :lmao:

The clips from China are very pretty. We did a lot of shopping there on this last trip. Lots of inexpensive items...just sadly, not Disney related.

Your food at dinner looks so good! I have never ate there. I think I may have to put that on my to do list for next time.

:sad2: sorry about the last full day. I hate those.

I hate the last few days before the end of the trip, esp departure day :(

But looks like you were hitting the right places.

You guys really do love Maya Grill :) Your food pics look delish :)

Looking forward to hearing about what you got up to at MK :goodsvibes

I hate last days -- so sad.

Your pictures at Epcot are great. Soarin' doesn't go that high...not sure why your cousin was so :scared1:.

Sophia, we so enjoyed meeting you and your family. And you are right...the time went by way too fast. Hopefully we will be able to meet up on another trip in the near future.

Looking forward to the MK update.

Once we arrived at MK, we headed right for Tomorrowland.

Disney2010Sony1665.jpg

Normally we go to Adventureland first, but this time we chose Tomorrowland. OMG, it was packed! It was the first time in a long time that we were there during evening EMH.

First up was Buzz. As luck would have it my gun was broken. Joe tried to shoot it too and he said the same thing...it was toast. Needless to say, I didn't score points that time. :headache:

After Buzz we took a ride on the TTA. I love the TTA at night. It was so nice and relaxing.

We decided that we couldn't NOT ride PotC. It's Joe's favorite so we headed over to the opposite end of the park, which is something we never, ever do, and rode PotC. :goodvibes

From there we were contemplating Splash, but there was no way that I was going to get drenched and be miserable for the rest of the night.

I talked my cousin into BTMRR. I didn't know if she would go for it or not, or if she would believe me as to what kind of ride it is, after what I did to her at Soarin. She loved it! I love BTMRR at night. It's awesome!!!

Next we went to HM, another one of Joe's favorites. We walked right on and that was great!

We were getting tired and I still had a couple of Vinylmations that I was on the hunt for so we headed back towards Main Street. We have a tradition that we always do Philharmagic last when leaving MK for the last time. Of course, we stopped there on our way out.

Before we headed to check out trading vinylmations, I stopped to take some pictures. I didn't lug my huge camera bag, just the point and shoot with me, hence, not many pics of MK at night.

We headed down Main Street, or up Main Street actually, and we were able to find two of the vinylmations that we were looking pretty hard for. We found Beaker and Bunson Honeydew! Yay!!!

I took a few shots while we were walking to the boat launch.

Disney, Day 10 - Craptastic Stuff/Drama = NOTHING!!! Yay, one day with no craptastic stuff!!!! ... unless of course you count that it was out last full day.

Disney, Day 10 - Fun Stuff = Scaring the crap out of my cousin on Soarin, Meeting Kathy and Mark, getting my Grey Goose Slushie, seeing Queen and Jasmine again!

I hate the last day. It is down right depressing!!!

Soarin doesn't go that high but I think it's the film and stuff and you do feel like you're flying. It was quite funny to hear here though.

I hope we do get to meet up again on a future trip. It would be nice to have breakfast together or something.

I hate the last few days before the end of the trip, esp departure day :(

Maya is so good. I am so glad that we stumbled on it last year. It wasn't in the plan so I consider myself lucky that we tried it.

:rotfl: So you are the evil one in your group!?! I guess there has to be at least one. For me, it was my girls....lying to me about how they would take it easy on the tea cups and then spinning it until I was about sick. I didn't trust a word they said about rides the rest of the trip. :lmao:

Yes, I am the evil one! This was the first year though that it was me. Normally, it's Joe! :lmao: You are a better person that I am. I would barf on the tea cups. I've never been on them in my life! :rolleyes1

The shop in China has great bargains, I think. But you are right, not Disney related. I normally don't get much from there because of that, but I really liked the clips.

Maya is yummy. You should put it on your list!!
