Drama, Please End...Fun, Please Begin...A Sept TR Updated 10/31

I had this great idea to take the boat to MK, then the Monorail to EPCOT. After all, we’d never used Disney transportation before except to go to HDDMR, so I figured why not?

We walked to the boat dock at WL and I took a few pictures

We boarded the boat for an 8 minute ride to MK

One boat ride and three monorails later, we made it to EPCOT. Yeah, I was no longer permitted to make transportation decision throughout the rest of the trip.

We ended up getting off the monorail at the Contemporary, going down the escalator and back up to get right back on to go to the TTC and get the monorail to EPCOT. The CM at the Contempo monorail was clueless. He had all these people trying to shove their way on the monorail. Joe told him there was no way we could do that. He ended up having us go back behind the rails and then when the next train came, he escorted us to a car. I have no clue why he did that. It made no sense to me. I was so worried about the time since we were meeting Liesa after her ADR at Biergarten and we were cutting it pretty close. Once we got to the TTC, we went down the ramp and then up the ramp to catch the monorail to Epcot.

We arrived at EPCOT and hightailed it to Germany. Liesa and LeeAnn were finishing up at Biergarten and we arranged to meet outside of Germany. Joe, my brother and my nephew went to get something to eat from Germany. In the meantime, I met up with Liesa and LeeAnn and we got to chatting. Liesa gave me the most beautiful quilt square I have seen. I don’t have a picture because I have taken it to work and it is on my desk. Someone tried to use it as a coaster during a meeting and I snatched it away!

I am quite bummed that I didn’t get to take a picture with Liesa. It was dark and everyone was getting ready for Illuminations. Liesa and LeeAnn decided that they were going to see other things and skip Illuminations but we talked about meeting at Jellyrolls the next evening.

As we were getting ready for Iluminations, I backed up against a rail and saw this guy:

We decided that since it was EMH at EPCOT that we'd go to Norway while waiting to hear from Karin (dizneeat) and Tom. They were dining on the Boardwalk with their friends and we were planning to meet up to say hello.

We rode Maelstrom since it was a walk on and went through the store looking to see if we could find matching gloves to the coat that I bought last year or a coat for my sister. No such luck but I did take a couple of pictures.

My sister will be mad if I post the one I took of her, especially since when I was taking it she said that I better not put it in my TR or on FBook. HA HA.

We also stopped for a snack. Guess what I got???

Right after we finished our snack, I received a text from Karin. They were in EPCOT. We arranged to meet near Test Track. We walked over to TT, and mom and I waited for Karin, Tom, Joe and MaryEllen while everyone else went on TT via the single rider line.

I finally found spotted Karin and we got to chat for a while. She was on the last night of a 30 day trip! Yep, you read that right....30 days!! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and we had a nice chat. Here is a picture of us.

After chatting with Karin, we decided to call it a night. Anyone care to guess how we got back to WL????

Thanks. It's amazing how much DN has changed, especially over the last two years. He must remind me constantly that he's taller than I am now. We are all trying to get use to the fact that he wants to have longer hair. It's always been so short but he insists that he wants to keep it this way.

OK, I had to stop reading cause Kayla had soccer pictures this morning, but I am all caught up!

WL actually looks appealing form your pics, but do they not have queen sized beds? or do they just look small in pics? I do love the idea of a boat ride to MK, and pulling into MK for my resort, kinda extra magical!

So nice that you got to meet so many Disers!

Looking forward to reading more, and good job to Joe on the anni gifts!!

DB – Second Disney trip, first with the entire family. Said he was happy that I said I was not doing Disney “commando style” like I did when we went in May 2009. One thing that he is not, is a lover of Piglet. Favorite attraction: I am guessing TSMM. He loves video games.

WL is really nice. I think you'd like it there. It was so nice to leave the room, get the boat and be at MK...in 10 minutes.

There were mishaps aplenty this year but that's okay! We learned to laugh through them and the family was together so we made the best of it!

They had a lot of cool Jack shirts this year at the Christmas store. After all the crap that happened when I made the transportation decision, I was relieved to be banned from the duty.

After chatting with Karin, we had to make the decision on how we were getting back to WL. Sooooooo, we figured that there was way too much drama with the monorail/boat thing so we took the bus.

We headed over to the bus stop and there were two people there waiting. We thought, cool, maybe it will be a nice, calm ride over. We waited what seemed like forever, but was really around 20 minutes. We watched a few busses go by for other resorts, none looked too packed from what we could see. Then ours came.................and there were what looked like a ZILLION people behind us

The people behind in front of us were wondering if the driver made a stop at both the Lodge and the campground. After the driver loaded a scooter, I asked and he said yes. Rut-row....that meant that the driver would probably load everyone! Yep, he sure did. We were like sardines in a can.......pickles shoved in a glass jar, jelly beans in a guessing game jar....you get the picture. This is where I realized that not everyone at Disney remembered to bring deoderant with them. Nor did they recall that Disney does have showers AND that they provide soap. We had butts in our faces the entire trip back to the lodge, but I guess we were lucky to get seats, right?

We got back to WL pretty late, and Joe still had to drive my bro back to POR. We decided then as a family that all the craptastic stuff had already happened to us so this trip was sure to start getting magical....um, no.

While Joe took my bro back, I took a few more pictures of our room. I just loves the rooms at WL.

I watched a bit of Wizzards of Waverly Place (thanks to Joe I am now addicted to that stupid show) and waited for Joe to get back.

I summarized our day in my notebook and added this:

Disney, Day 1 - Craptastic Stuff/Drama = Late cabbie who couldn't drive worth a hill of beans; crabby and hungry family stopping at BK where they decided to get the grains for the buns from an Ohio farm before serving us; Alama drama that will undoubtedly prevent me from ever renting from them again; and finally.......guess who is NEVER going to make transportation decisions for the family again?

Disney, Day 1 - Fun Stuff = Being with my family and seeing my brother for the first time since the holidays and meeting Liesa and LeeAnn and Karin, Tom, Joe and MaryEllen.

Today was DAK day. It was also 9/11. 9/11 is always difficult for me. I woke up that morning thinking about all of the people who lost their lives and left families behind, 9 years ago. I got myself together and woke Joe since we had an ADR at BOMA for breakfast and I didn't want to be late.

We picked up my brother and all 6 of us crammed into one rental SUV. That game me a chance to take a few pictures along the way. I was driving and didn't get a chance to take the arch at WL, but I got it this time as well as pictures on the way to POR.

The service was good. We decided to pay OOP today since we had a few extra meals outside of the DDP.

Na na na na, na na na na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye diet!!!!!!! Yep, I was singing that to myself at this point!

The first of a zillion self portraits and by far, this is the worst one of them all. I look stoned or something.

So where do you think we went after breakfast? If you know me, you will know the answer in a heartbeat......

Ding, ding, ding....if you said THE MARA, you are right? The Mara you ask? Didn't we just finish eating at BOMA? Um yeah, but I NEED ZEBRA DOMES!!!!!!!!! I had to get me these babies!

And yes, I ate them ALL...with a little help from my sister.............
