how do you get in to see the dragon i just realised i completely missed that my last trip

oh well just another reason to book again :cool1: :cool1:

If you are walking towards the castle from down Main Street there is a passage to the left of the castle that leads underneath. I'll see if I can find a photo and point it out!!

There are also stairs through the back of the castle shop I think. And another route in/out through the back fantasyland/adventureland entrance.

I'm preparing one of my world famous google earth maps!!

Here you go. You get to the dragon through the passage by the brown fence in this picture at the side of the castle.

hehe love your maps! i missed this on my first trip as well, it wasn't til i got back home and looked at the park map that i realised there was a dragon under the castle!

I haven't been to see it either. I've seen the pics and all but how scary is it actually when you're there? Not scary or a bit scary? (Thinking about taking DD/DS down to have a look)

It is quite dark and cramped down there, especially when there are lots of people trying to see it. I'd take a look 1st as I'm not sure how frightened they would be. It does move around and breath fire and smoke etc.

is this opened during emh

thanks for the map and the pic i cant believe i forgot about it

just wish the dlrp website would stop timing me out grrrr now i cant price a jan trip

On my first visit we saw the Dragon and didn't know you could go in the castle... We did it the funny way round! Lol!

The dragon is called something like "La Taniere". My DD is 5.5 and is TERRIFIED of it, so I agree about checking first! It's very dark (I find it unnerving in case I bump into anything) and it can be noisy when it gets going. I'm going to make myself sound very weird here though - I love the smell of it! It's that musky, damp smell that I associate with queuing for Pirates Of The Caribbean and it instantly makes me think of Disney!!

It's creepy! Probably because both times we'd been by ourselves with no other soul around. It was pitch black and I was scared to edge forward in case I bumped into him which is just silly because he's gated off

He was open during EMH. We found him by walking past the Princess stage nearest the castle I think.

I had a lightened pic in my trip report but found it hard to photograph him as it was so, so dark. Got this one of his pearly whites so don't let him catch you :scared1:

I have to say, I'm still a bit scared of the Dragon...

i got that look off my sis when i closed my eyes for the drop on potc. ash 22 months was screaming weeeee and i was clinging onto her lol

Me too!!!

I just made the mistake of asking Jack if he was - he looked at me like I'm a loser! :(

Snap! Robert thinks I'm nuts for finding it scary!

I was fairly embarrassed when I saw the Dragon in DLRP in April though. I was terrified and pushed up against the back wall, and some two year old was shouting at it and weilding a sword! I've never felt more of a coward in my life!

I wondered what La Taniere du Dragon was. Never saw or even heard about it our last trip.

I was looking to see if there were any closures while we were there and read on the DLRP website that it is closed December 1st to 12th.

Don't know when you are going.
