Just got back from the world and here a few places we ate:
Yachtsman Steakhouse - Dinner: I had the Bourbon Steak and it was absolutely spectacular. The bread / butter was delicious, the service was very good and the mashed potatoes were excellent as well. This was definitely one of the best places I've been to at Disney World! Atmosphere was top notch as well! Quite possibly my new favorite restaurant at WDW.
Teppanyaki - Lunch: I only went here because my wife really wanted to. This was the surprise of the whole vacation though! We split a meal, but I wish I had gotten my own! I was very impressed with Teppanyaki... didn't think I would enjoy Japanese food, but I did! We will definitely go back next time
Nine Dragons - Lunch: Nine Dragons was much better this time around than the last time I went back in 1995. However, there wasn't much on the lunch menu and seemed to be a bit overpriced. OK - might go back.
Planet Hollywood - Dinner: Mediocre Cheeseburger with a mediocre milkshake. Get what you expect.
Captain Jack's - Dinner: We went here last summer and really enjoyed it! This time around was a slight disappointment. The shrimp / lobster pasta was not as good.
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater - Lunch: I don't care what people say about the food here.... I love the cheesy Sci-Fi Theater trailers!!! Stick with a simple cheeseburger & fries and enjoy the movies!
Whispering Canyon - Lunch / Dinner: We ate here twice because we stayed at the WL. The first time we sat in the "noisy" area... it was fun, but you have to be in the right mood to enjoy the staff and their hokey-ness. The second time we ate in the "quiet" area. I must say, both times the food was EXCELLENT! I assumed the attraction to WC was the atmosphere for kids, but the food was unusually good.
San Angel (Mexico) - Lunch: Another restaurant that was surprisingly good. I really enjoy the atmosphere, with the volcano and river in the background. One question though: Why do the waitresses always take away your chips and salsa when your meal arrives?
Ghiradelli - Dessert: My wife and I got an Earthquake! We just had to get one to see what it looked like. It was really big and we only ate about 1/2. It was good, but too much whip cream... kind of had a tummy ache afterwards.
Happy to answer questions!
