I think I may have misunderstood the number of meals you get on the DPP!

We are staying at ASMu for 5 nights and 6 days. We have 6 day tickets because we're checking out on the 6th day but still spending the day at a park.

I thought I had 6 TS, 6 CS and 6 snacks because I read you have to use all your credits by midnight on the day you check out. But..reading more closely I see that the number of meals depends on the number of nights spent??????

So do I really only have 5 TS, 5 CS and 5 snacks instead of 6???

Help me out with this one!

Hi

You have 5 because it goes by the numbers of night you stay.

Hi

I second that...DDP is always based on the # of nights, not days that is linked to your package...on your last day you are basically on your own unless you have "banked" credits from previous nights...for example, maybe you split CS meals one day because your not really hungry, etc. Have fun and EAT MUCH!

Yes, the prior posters are correct. You will each have five of everything.
You can use them in any order, and at any rate - which is why it is very possible to have them 'left over' at the end of your trip, on checkout day.

When we have DDP, which isn't often but we do it occasionally, we usually use the TS but not the CS or the snack for our first night at WDW, and then use those credits on check-out day. What the midnight thing means is, once you've checked out your credits left (whatever they are, if any) will cease to exist at midnight after check-out. This is where you hear stories of families spending fourteen snack credits at the hotel shop before jumping on ME back to the airport, just to use them up.

Yep. my last check out day, I witnessed a woman practically buying out the entire stock of rice crispy mickey head bars at the food court. lol and then saw her jamming them all in her luggage.

I thought the same when we did the DDP 2 years ago, figured it went by the no of days we had tickets for but didn't find out till we got there that it went by no of night stays, So if you get there early the arrival day and leave late the departure day you are will not have enought credits to last. 2 years ago and last year we did a day away from Disney so it worked out ok.

Based on nights as check in is not until 3 - 4 in the afternoon and check out is 11 am.

Wow, this is some important information. I am glad I read this thread!

And before anyone asks, you can't add days to your DDP without staying longer :sad1: I tried.

Hmm...was it a lady with short hair at POR in November of '05? Just kidding. I didn't buy the whole stock, but did realize at check-out that we had 5 snack credits left. I bought five of the crispy Mickeys to bring home for my kids and the family that was hamster-sitting for us!
Second trip we were much better about keeping track of our credits. ;)
