DP on a cash reservation

I just made a cash reservation for the VWL using my DVC member discount.
I was told I will be unable to add the DP to this reservation, due to it being a cash reservation and not a pts reservation.

This makes no sense to me, I can book a cash reservation at Pop Century for 100 bucks a night, but a 450 dollar per night room is unable to add the DP?l

I think I would call MS back and see if you get a different answer. We have a studio booked with a member discount for two nights and then move to a 2BR on points (so we technically have 2 reservation numbers)...when I called MS they allowed me to add the dining plan to the 2 nights on cash (didn't want the plan for the entire trip). I guess it is possible that MS gave me incorrect info (which I won't find out until we check in) but it is worth it if you really want the plan to call back. Just for the record, the info on the member's site does say we are entitled to the DDP if we are using points for our reservation.

Good suggestion, I'll call back another day. I don't want to call again today, I was on hold 20 mins, with other members making plans for the holidays. lol

Call back, we have a points reservation, followed by a Cash reservation and were told we could add it to both.
