DP 2012 in Downtown Disney??

Hi,
I have booked to go next year and have the DP. I was just looking on Disney's website and wondered if anyone has noticed there is a long list of restaurants in DTD that accept the plan this year, but next year there is only going to be 2 restaurants in DTD accepting the dining plan! I was hoping to eat at planet Hollywood and Wolfgang Puck's Marketplace. Why would it go from so many to so few?? You can understand changing a couple but not as many as that! Its a bit disappointing as now there is no choice really at DTD and I was hoping to spend a few evenings eating and shopping there.
Any thoughts on this?

It happens every year...it will change as the restaurants resign their contracts...check back in the late fall!

As pinkle says it happens every year, many don't commit to the scheme until late fall/Xmas.

Does that mean that the restaurants are independent as such and only sign up to the scheme if they want?

Correct, they are not Disney owned and I'm sure that they are negotiating with Disney as we speak.

Nothing to worry about because this happens every year.

The only restaurants that are currently listed for 2012 are owned by Disney.

All of the others are outside vendors who are still negotiating with Disney. Usually the list isn't finalized until the end of the year, but you can be pretty certain that if it's on the list this year, it'll be there next year. I believe that over the years there has been only one restaurant still in operation that has withdrawn from the DDP and DxDDP.
