downtown St Louis restaurant

How old are your kids? Are you adventurous or picky? How much are you willing to spend? Are you looking for a chain restaurant or something you can't get anywhere else?

There are hundreds of great restaurants in the St. Louis area, but without knowing more about you, it's hard to make recommendations :)

My kids are 11 & 13, both boys. Both love soccer but no other sports (so the baseball restaurant was a no).

We're pretty adventurous to a certain extent, but I'm a vegetarian and no one else here is, so a BBQ restaurant would be hard to do. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but something neat and original would be cool.

We're only in St Louis for one day as we head west, so we're looking into the best ways to spend our time there.

I love this idea. The menu looks good and has a lot of variety. I'll have to get opinions of the other 3 in the family....but looks good to me.

We went there about 2 years ago. Fun place. If I remember correctly the St Louis walk of fame is nearby. I think you can also take the trolley to the area. - memory is failing as I age...:scared1:

What day of the week are you looking for a good dinner?

If it's a Sunday - ignore this suggestion :o) Try the Hill... You can always get a veggie entree at an Italian Restaurant unless you are totally vegan. My favorites are Favazza's and Zia's http://www.favazzas.com/ http://www.zias.com/index.html

I like Iron Barley in South St. Louis (from downtown 55 south to Bates), make a right and then another right on Virginia http://www.ironbarley.com/ great food!

You can always make a stop at Ted Drewes or Crown Candy Kitchen too. http://www.teddrewes.com/Drewes.asp http://crowncandykitchen.net/

Fitz's is ok food wise, the rootbeer is terrific and the floats are worth the trip but it is pricey for burgers and fries IMO.

We went to Fitz's. The kids loved they could try all the different soda flavors. However, you may want to call before going. We went and told the kids all about how they could watch the soda being bottled, and they weren't running the bottles. They were kinda let down. The food was decent though.
