Is Downtown Disney huge? We'd like to go to World of Disney and the Lego store and eat lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Are these near each other and anywhere near Disney Quest?

I read a recommendation to park at the West side. Would that be a far walk if we parked there? Cirque isn't performing the day we are visiting so do you think that will help the parking situation?

I've looked online for a map of the area but haven't been able to find one.

Thanks! :flower:

Liz with this question,Thanks Danny :goodvibes

I'll try this I haven't been in a year so I don't know how much has changed. I always park at DTD because I have handicapped plates so I've never had a problem with parking. You can walk from the West Side if you choose, I've found it to be a bit of a hike for me though.

Everything in DTD is pretty close, no bigger than your average shopping mall in my opinion.

The first 3 are all pretty close to each other. They are all in the "Marketplace" side of DTD. Disney Quest is actually a bit of a hike from those, but nothing you couldn't hoof. There are shuttles though to the West Side. Here's a link to a map of Downtown Disney: DtD Map

Note that map is a little old, I think. Earl of Sandwich is where "Disney at Home" is on that map, I think (but don't quote me). The home goods stuff that used to be for sale there are in World of Disney.

The difficulty of finding a parking spot depends on the day, and time of day, that you plan to visit DD. Weekends and evenings are the busiest. DD is in three sections. The Marketplace is unique collection of village shops and this where the Lego Store and the Earl of Sandwich are located. Disney Quest is located in a section called The West Side, and is more like urban style shopping, with dining and unique entertainment. Pleasure Island is in the middle between the Marketplace and the West Side. We always try to park near the section we want to visit and then move the car to the next section. IF you're going at a crowded time and can't find many parking spots (we've never had a problem though), then I'd suggest parking closer to the middle to have the shortest walk from any location. To walk from Earl of Sandwich to Disney Quest is doable, but it's a bit of a hike.

Thanks for the bumps till I got some replies! And thanks for the wonderful link to the map and info! Just what I was looking for!!

After looking at the map I have another question! If you take Disney transportation from a resort to DTD, where does it let you out? Or is there more than one bus stop at DTD?

Thanks! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Yes WDW bues will first stop at Marketplace, where you'll walk in right beside the Christmas shop. Buses continue from there to the other bus stop servicing DTD - which is located "between" PI and West Side.

Editied to add, that Earl of Sandwich is housed in the building that used to be the gourmet pantry. Disney At Home store is/was on the opposite side of the walkway.

I think there's lots to do at Downtown Disney. There's DisneyQuest, of course, but right next to that is the Virgin Megastore. When I was there, I used to kill time by browsing inside, because there's two floors. There's also Pleasure Island, but most of it is open at night. I haven't been there since '01, but you can find more information here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/moreMagicLanding?id=DTDLandingPage

Hope that helps. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info I hadn't thought of.

So if we're going to Cirque, we would get off at the second bus stop? TIA.

BTW, the Earl of Sandwich has good stuff!! Different and unique, and reasonably priced. You might also want to check out the toy store (the name escapes me at the moment - must be a brain ----!)
Have a great time!
