We are arriving on a Sat @ 2:30- I figure by the time we check in etc etc--- it'll be about 5ish....

I am planning on going to DTD for the 1st day....

What is there to do? I heard there is a Lego Store.
We are planning to eat @ Rainforest Cafe as well (anyone know if they need reservations)?
Also-- the bus from CBR will take us there?

Its been well over 10 years since I have been to WDW- last time there were no kids with us. now we have 2.

Thanks

The Lego store also has a small playground. Near Rainforest cafe there is shooting fountain that the kids can play in. If your children are younger, there is a carousel that costs $2 and a small train.

My DD4 loves the stores and is happily entertained at DD. Most of the stores have hands on displays to keep the kids entertained (or TVs).

We'll probably see you there! ;) Depends on how heavy of a lead foot I have and if we get out of the house on time and how many times DD has to stop to potty. Still KOTS so I might tell her we're going to Disney if it keeps her out of (the novelty of) the bathroom.

Depending on when you are going, you could need an ADR at Rainforest Cafe. Wouldn't hurt to have one. In terms of your 5pm arrival estimate...are you flying? taking ME? If you are arriving at MCO at 2:30 (and your flight is on time) on a Sat, I wouldn't count on being in DTD for 5pm. Budget 1 1/2 hours to get from MCO to CBR (it's usually the second stop on the ME route). Figure another 1/2 hour (at least...again Sat is busy) to check in. 1/2 hour to get to your room and put away your carry ons, have a potty break, and freshen up. 20 minutes to wait for a bus to DTD and another 15 minutes to get there. I wouldn't make a Rainforest ressie until at least 6:30ish to be safe.

OK-I will make a later dinner reservation.

Thanks for the advise/tips!

Not sure if this is still the case but we were advised that for DTD Rain FOrest Cafe they do not make reservations. You can only do that at the one at Animal Kingdom. While we were there it was packed crowds outside. Some of the places tho give you a pager so you can leave and wander a bit and come back when your pager goes off.

The other things you can do there:
Visit the Virgin Record Store it is big and cool.
Visit the many shops
Take pictures (There are a lot of photo ops in DTD only problem is if you can get a clear shot with the crowds)
Enjoy the water view
And Disneyquest is great if you like arcade and interactive games but be prepared to pay.

Have fun!

The last time we ate at the rainforest cafe, you just had to get your name on the list and wait--loooooong waits!! I would suggest earl of sandwich for something casual or fultons for something nicer!:thumbsup2

You can call the DTD one and make a reservation directly. I did this on my 180 days, I didn't have a problem.
