Hello! I am going to disney from the 5/5 to 5/9 so only 3 full days. I have 2 dc, 2 and 5. 2 Grandmoms will be coming also . My plan was to hit epcot / mgm the first day , ak then mk the second , and MK the last day for the full day. Do you think it is worth it to squeeze downtown disney in there???

No.

If we only had 3 full days, I wouldn't visit DTD. There are plenty of gift shops and dining options right in the parks, so I would skip DTD this time.

I really think it has more to do with where you'll be staying since time is rather tight. If at POR or POFQ, its a simple boat ride to walk the shops and kids can see lego land and play a bit, but if you're not really into the extra walking and spending at the stores, LOL, I'd say spend more time at a park and ENJOY every minute you have.

Like someone else said, if you only have 3 days then I would probably skip it. Unless you have a little time on the day you arrive or leave. This is where we buy all of our souvenirs.

Do what i'm doing. We're going to DTD the very first night we get there...we're arriving in late afternoon. Then getting up first thing in the morning to go to the parks. If you have time your first night just go then.

I figured that DTD will be relaxed enough to just blow some time the first night, and then get to bed early for the next day.

I think I'm gonna take your advice and go the last day. My flight doesnt take off till 3pm so we basically have all that morning.

We usually go once during our visits which are only 3-4 days at a time. Usually it is at night for dinner (would recommend reservations). We've decided to this year to do just a walk up dinner rather than a sit down because we'll be going with our DD whose 11 months.

In a word...No! If the option is one of the parks vs. DDT, I personally would choose the parks. If you have the extra time, it's just ok.

Nope, not if you are just staying for 3 days. You can find everything you need at the parks. We usually dedicate a day out for Downtown Disney but usually we stay for at least 10 days.

I agree, if you only have three days I would focus on the parks rather than doing DTD. We usually go there if we have time at the beginning of our vacation (arrival day if we have the afternoon free). It's fun to walk around but if you don't have a lot of time, I'd skip it.

We went the DTD the morning before we left to head home, but we had already been there once so we were just picking up last minute things etc. I really enjoyed (I'm a shopaholic though) and the kids seemed to like it too.

If you have part of a day on a travel day I would definitely go. Kids love Goofy's Candy Factory, the lego center and if you have a chance to eat the are a lot of great places to eat! There is a carousel that my kids loved too and make your own light sabre.

We love DTD, and make sure we take the time to go every time!! Lots of stuff to see and do, plus the foods great too!!

I agree if you only have a short time the parks are where i would focus. we were there for 8 days and took 1/2 of 1 to go to dtd. i enjoyed my girls did not.

I agree. When we have AP we often don't go to DTD at all. Also it really has become a local hang out and is rather crowded and busy. Because it is more full of people who live around there hanging out like a local mall it doesn't feel as vacation and Disney magical to me. Just kind of a place to hang when you have some free moments and you don't have to pay to get in.
