So...I really wasn't planning on going to DD as I thought it was really just for shopping and I figured we'd do enough of that at the parks. BUT....apparently there is a lego place?? and my son is lego crazy. Is it a store or fun area or what?
Is there restaurants and stuff around it also or just stores?
Plus do we just get a bus to downtown disney or are there buses to the different areas of downtown disney cause it looks like there is ?? maybe 3 areas of downtown disney...gosh Im confused maybe I should just stay at the resort and not venture far.....

It is a lego store with areas inside it that allow for playing.

There are stores and restaurants around it.

You take the bus labeled DTD from your resort. It usually stops at DTD before it goes on down to the Pleasure Island and West End stops.

Just get off when you see the huge World of Disney store. As you are facing the lagoon, the Lego Store is to the left of WOD.

Go and have a blast.

If you want a quick inexpensive meal, stop at the Earl of Sandwich. All sandwiches are $5.00. Great sandwiches at an even better price.

it is a store, but they do have a play area also. pretty neat. it is in dd marketplace, just take a bus to dd and they'll drop you off. there is a mcdonalds and earl of sandwich restaurant(also a few more ). we LOVE dd marketplace. there is a christmas store where you can get items personalized and oh gosh,i could just go on and on...

Yes you should go and lose your mind like everyone else. Buying disney related merchandise by the truckload. Cups, mugs, coasters, shirts, pants, watches, earrings, snow globes, oven mitts, toy swords, toy muskets. All can be found at the largest disney store in the universe. We always go and laugh at the stuff we buy. It seemed like a good idea at the time and then you get home and you wonder, what the heck can I use this Mickey tablecloth for? It is almost like a fever takes over you. I think they pump narcotics into the place.

Definitely go! Don't be afraid to venture out. There are the 3 areas of DTD, but they are all connected. The Disney bus drivers are great, don't be afraid to ask them the best stop to get off at to get to the Legos. DTD is great fun. Good places to eat and shop and the Lego place is awesome. They sell Lego stuff I've never seen before. They have an area outside that kids can play & build with the Legos. They also have some really neat statue things all around that have been built with Legos. Really cool to look at. If I can find pictures I will try to post them for you. Have fun!

My son loves it - we have to go there everytime now - just so he can get his lego fix - sometimes i think he'd be happy if we dropped him off at the start of the vacation and picked him up back on the way to the airport

oh and the earl of sandwich - yes yes and more please - my kids love the pizza sandwich

You should go. We went last month during the day and my dd's had so much fun. they were having a dance and hula hoop contest on the stage there on the water. We spent almost an hour in that area. My kids love the area. Go, you'll have a fun day.

some pics of DD ..... my dd's really loved the lego land and dont forget the scrapbooking store.....

DTD is great fun to just stroll through and browse in the stores! DD and I will head to DTD if I need a midweek/evening Disney fix. I get an iced latte and choc covered strawberry from Ghiradelli's and we wonder around!

You should definitely take the time to check it out! Besides the stores and places to eat in the Marketplace area, there is movie theater at the West End (among lots of other stuff) - if you want a break from the parks to do something different!

Here are some othe Lego store photos. Click here for my Dowtown Disney Photo album.

We went to DTD on our last visit for the first time...we are totally hooked!!! I was just looking at the Lego "statues" and noticed they are completely different from the ones we saw two years ago. Can't wait to see them in person! My kids love to play at the Lego store and browse around the World of Disney...and don't forget the new Pirate room pirate: at the World of Disney and the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique princess: !!!
