Downtown Disney - what hotel?

Heading down next week for a couple days at Universal and decided to add a night to take in DTD and Cirque. My goal is to park the car at the hotel and just walk to DTD but will be with my DD16 so don't want to walk really far at night.

That leaves me with the Hilton, Buena Vista Palace, or the Wyndham. What is my best option for a decent room and easiest walk? It looks like BVP is the most economical option and while I would love to go on the cheap, price won't be the deciding factor.

We stayed at the Buena Vista Palace a while back. It was very nice clean, and an easy walk to the marketplace side of DTD. Unfortunately Cirque is a the opposite end so that is definitely a bit of a walk. The pool area was also very nice at BVP. I would recommend staying there.

Thanks :)
Not concerned about walking to Cirque, it was more the walking once we are out of DTD.
BVP -it looks like it is split into two sections?

I remember it having different resort bulidings/towers? We were in the main tower.

The Hilton on Resorts Plaza Blvd at the corner of Buena Vista Blvd is literally a street crossing away from DTD and has the quickest/easiest access to DTD at the Marketplace entrance.

Another option would be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside (Or Old Key West) and taking the boat back & forth to DTD. Saratoga Springs also an option for walking - the path is easy access.

Are you talking about staying at a DTD resort property or just parking at one to get to DTD? If just parking, the Buena Vista Palace is the closest property that has free parking. The Hilton charges for parking as do all other properties except the Best Western. The the Best Western is at the other end of Hotel Plaza Blvd.

We actually park at the BVP all the time when we head to the Marketplace side of DTD. Much easier and always a parking spot available.

Staying at night at a DTD hotel. We will check out of RPR at Universal on Saturday and check in at a DTD hotel for Saturday night. Plan is to spend the morning Saturday doing whatever (Ikea, Universal, Millenia Mall...) and then head over to DTD to check in at our hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at DTD including the Cirque show and walking back to the hotel once we are done for the night.

Be sure to factor in the road construction in front of DTD, the closed DTD parking lots, and weekend traffic into DTD!

That is one of the main reasons I want to stay in a hotel right there just so we can walk from place to place. I hate traffic; well, I hate driving. I definitely do not want to spend my day wandering up and down parking lot rows looking for a place to park!

The closest to DTD itself will be the Buena Vista Palace and the Hilton. We typically park at the BVP when we go to DTD and just walk over from there. Their parking lot is free and we avoid most of the traffic around the area.

The weekend traffic can get bad at times, though they opened up one of the garage ramps and pedestrian bridges so it is starting to get better around DTD.

How far is that best western? Looking for cheap or anholiday inn express brand that is within walking distance to dtd . Want to be able to catch a resort bus and then head to parks.
I usually stay on property. But trying to find cheap this time

The Best Western is about the furthest away from DTD as any of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

There is a Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd. that is closer to DTD as well. All properties near DTD have coach service to and from the parks.

I was gonna use best western as I got a deal at hotels.com for $56, however , once all the fees were added in it was the same price as all stars with passholder discount. I opted on music. I will say the noise from flushing toilets is really bad at music and forget busing..that said for what I got was worth it. also, I was surprised at some of the food options at music. I got London broil and 2 sides for just $12 I thought that was pretty fair for disney

We ended up at the Holiday Inn. The room was okay, the people working there were great. We walked to DTD - not bad at all. Opted to take the bus back since we ended our night at the Cirque end of things and it was easier than taking the boat then walking, or walking the whole way. I would stay there again.

Glad to here you'd stay there again. We're picking the Holiday Inn for a mini stay we are doing. It gets good reviews on Trip Advisor. For us we can get a pool view room with double queens and a balcony with a nice buffet breakfast included for about the same price as the POP or A of A Little Mermaid rooms. (No car this time, so wanted to have frequent shuttle to Disney). Reports about bed comfort have me here instead of the Disney values. The every half hour shuttle service will work great for us. It starts an hour before the park opens. On this trip we're going to do the 9:30 a.m. Keys to the Kingdom tour at the MK and then a few other attractions. On our other day we'll take a cab to SeaWorld -- our other favorite Orlando park.

Love the DTD Holiday Inn! Terrific service & nice pool area. Big bonus - kids eat for free!!
