I got my flight tickets after work today from the travel agents

With the tickets i got a "downtown disney" virgin check-in voucher.

Can anyone tell me what this is ?

Thanks

Hi
It means you can check in all your luggage and get your boarding passes at a counter set up in downtown disney on the morning of your departure. This frees you up to do whatever for the rest of your last day, I think you have to get to the airport a couple of hours prior to departure, but no queues!
Also, if you do need to check in any further bags afterwards they allow you to do it when you arrive at the airport.
Its one of the main reasons I travel with Virgin airlines, when I can.
Have a great hol! Jo x

Hi thefoxes

Just wanted to second what Jo said - this is a brilliant feature of booking with Virgin, I don't think anyone else does it. It saves loads of time waiting around at the airport, and the all-important, just a bit longer in the parks. Also, it means no lugging your bags round with you all day and worrying about leaving them in the back of your car.

Have a great time!

When they assign your seats at DTD, do they aim to honour your pre-assigned seats in the same way as they would at the airport?

Only 21 days to go! :cool1:

Yes, its the same computer connection as at MCO

Thats good then. So in a way it is a good way to get your chosen seats then as you will be checking in earlier than when the desk opens at MCO.

Forgot about that - can you DIY check in for return leg, then drop bags off at DTD? That is the real reason for doing it I guess, as you don't have the burden of the cases. If not, you have the same problem as just checking it at the airport, albeit you have your seats already.

I would check with Virgin on that point.
As we fly UC, we just check in at DTD, but we keep one bag for the child seat and check that in at MCO when we drop off the car.

can someone remind me what time this check in opens - we plan to check in and then pop back to the CBR resort (where we are staying) until official check out time.... I seem to remember that it was quite early about 9.00 ish can someone confirm this for me

I've a feeling it may be even earlier but worth checking with Virgin - note that really bad weather can mean this service may be cancelled too, although we've never had a problem.

We spend the rest of the day at Seaworld and hit the airport/car hire return 2 hours before flight time, which we've found to be plenty.

As a non-driver, if i use this service would I have to make it back to my resort hotel for my return transfer to the airport that day or do you think they will pick me up from another location, such as downtown disney?

We used this service and it was excellent. The check opened at 8:30 untill 1:30, weather permitting.

We used DTD check-in last year and the Mears transport just picks you up from DTD instead of your hotel. If I remember rightly, you need to notify the Virgin Rep in advance if you want to be picked up there though.
