We are in need of opinions! We are wanting to eat somewhere, specifically in Downtown Disney, with 2 kids and several adults with varied tastes. We have only eaten at Planet Hollywood there, and safe to say that is out of the running after our experience there! What other restaurant in Downtown Disney would you recommend? Thanks in advance for the advice!

I would also like some suggestions- we ate at some BBQ place in DT Disney last fall, and it wasn't so good. Super-fried everything-

We are staying at Saratoga Springs for a quickie vacation, and I'd love some dining suggestions in the area- DT Disney is right around the corner.

Thanks!

I'd agree that Planet Hollywood is well past its peak.

A few suggestions at DTD:

Rainforest Cafe - the menu is probably similar to PH, but I found the food to be superior. This is also definitely a themed restaurant and it is by no means quiet. There's a "thunderstorm" every 15 minutes or so, so little kids might get a little rattled. My main complaint with RFC is that it isn't cheap, but not much is down there these days. It can also be quite crowded. I'm not sure what the policy on making reservations is these days. Last time I went, I was able to make them thru Disney, one other time I had to call them directly. I've also heard they don't take them, but I'd check that out.

House of Blues - this has become one of our "must do" restaurants. Its located on the West Side of DTD, not far from Cirque du Soleil. We've had some good meals there, but you should probably check the menus.

T Rex - has only been open a few months. Co-workers tell me its quite good and is obviously dinosaur themed. Its run by the same folks that run RFC. It is very popular and loud. Again, I'd check to see what the reservation policy is, if there is one.

Bongo's - This is another one I haven't been to, but people I work with love it. Check out the menu and see if it looks good...

Oh I love going to DTD for dinner! We were just there last weekend for a short trip and ate pretty much all of our meals in DTD.
Rain forrest cafe- Its good and noisey and alittle pricey but the food is worth it!
Raglan Road-(I know its a irish pubb)But its sooo good and ALOTS of kids are there when we go so I don't see why not and the food is just to good to pass up! :lovestruc:thumbsup2
Earl sandwich- It was our first time and it wont be our last! It was sooo good and fresh!
Bongos- It's fun and great food! Its cuban food
The food court in disney quest is not to bad either if your inside already why not just eat there really? ;)
Cap n' Jacks- its sea food its good too
Oh and I heard cooks of Dublin has really good fish and chips! We were on our way to raglan road and the line for cooks of dublin no kidding a mile long!! There was workers trying to keep it all together so no one was bumping any one or anything it was crazy!!:scared1::eek:
My mom said she really likes Fultons crab house
All of these are one that are MOST goes when we go. If I went some where and didn't like I would tell you about it! Hope this helps!! :flower3:

Earl of Sandwich is fantastic. Everything is freshly made to order and the are unique. Try the tomato soup. While it is not at TS you can take you food outside and sit on their patio or go over by the water.

Wolfgang Puck express also have a great menu. The better location is the one in the marketplace near the christmas shop.

Portobello is awesome:) Its a bit more upscale then other disney restaurants (nothing like Victoria and Albert's though) but there are tables outside which I would recommand sitting at with kids

We just added Raglan Road and Earl of Sandwich to our must do list after eating at both for the first time last week! YUM!:thumbsup2

My family and I have been to the Rainforest Cafe, Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Puck Express and Fulton's Crab House. Personally our favorite location is Earl of Sandwich and even though it's a considered to be a counter service location their sandwiches are very good and prices are very resonable.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread...just wanted to ask a quick question.

Does anyone know if Bongo's does take out? My husband LOVES Cuban food, but the rest of the family not so much.

Thanks!

I'm trying to remember back a couple of weeks, but I think Bongo's has a take out window.

We also enjoy Wolfgang Puck Express! That and Earl of Sandwich are musts for us. :)

It does, with a limited menu.

We tried Bongo's once, and it was pretty good. We would go back but don't feel a burning urge to do so.

Raglan Road is something special. That whole pub vibe is a blast, and we are not club crawlers or even drinkers. It also has the best dessert, methinks, in all of Disney.

Earl of Sandwich is a terrific CS spot. I think they put something in their freshly baked bread. It's as close to a bargain as you'll find in WDW. And WP's is table service stuff served CS. Another favorite, and we eat breakfast there on our last day on the way out frequently.

I would eat at WPE every meal if I could. (The one by the Christmas shop.) The food is sooooo good, and you get so much of it. And the menu is huge! GREAT food and a great value for a CS credit!

My opinion, in order (and I have reviewed all of these top 3, I believe, with pix, if you want to search the Review board):

Raglan Road
House of Blues
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Planet Hollywood (as a fallback)

not going back anytime soon to:
Bongo's
Wolfgang Puck Express

Thanks for letting me know about Bongo's. My husband will be happy to know at least he can get something, even if it's takeout!

Thank you for all of the great suggestions...now if I can get everyone in my party to agree on one place, I will be doing pretty good!!:woohoo:

Wolfgang Puck Express - the quesidilla is to die for; DH loved the pizza; kids ate all their meals

Earl of Sandwich - amazing sandwiches

T Rex - had a so-so experience - expensive but would try it again, I think

Also ate at Wolfgang Puck Restaurant - did not have as good of experience - more expensive and the service was just OK - food was VERY good though so if you want sit-down it would be worth a try - just hope service is better!!
