Downtown disney restaurant suggestion

Can you order just dessert at Jazz Kitchen? I remember eating inside there years ago but is there also some sort of quick service area or something?

Yes, there is the Jazz Kitchen Express just to the left of the main restaurant. You can get fresh beignets and bread pudding there, as well as some main dishes.

Seconding Uva Bar - get some plates to share, some yummy beverages, and enjoy watching the world go by

Another place I love in DTD is Earl of Sandwich. I really like their sandwiches and salads and they are pretty reasonable. My daughter craves their turkey sandwiches and wishes we had one near us!

I feel the same way about the Holiday Turkey sandwich. I ate it 3 times on our last trip and I so wish we had an EoS closer to us!

Any idea if you can get their coffee there, too? Best coffee I ever recall drinking...

Thank you for all the great suggestions. I'm leaning toward snacking through Downtown Disney. It might be fun to just split some options from a handful of places.

Jazz Kitchen and Tortilla Joes are two of our favorites. I've also heard good thinks about Catal, but have never eaten there myself.

Jazz Kitchen has great bread pudding and will bring out a bowl of extra Creme Anglaise for it if you ask.

+1 for Catal here too. Prices can be a little expensive but the service is seriously top-notch. Definitely worth the visit :)

Snacking is a good idea since there are so many places to choose from. You can also just go sit in the bar in the Rainforest Cafe and get an appetizer if you want to enjoy the atmosphere but don't want to get a full expensive meal.

I'd second Uva Bar...I love sitting outside at their little happy oasis people watching. If you aren't needing a big meal, I would also recommend sitting at the bar at the Napa Rose. If you split a couple of things like a pizza and a salad you could stay in your budget--even if you have a drink. Great ambiance, incredible food, and enjoyable experience.

This sounds like a lot of fun. You might want to consider Tangeroa Terrace/Trader Sam's enchanted tiki bar in a drinks and snack progressive. It's at the Disneyland Hotel near the end of DTD so it might be best to start there (tends to get very crowded later). The weekends have street performers and music in DTD, you could really make a nice night of it.

We are arriving on a Saturday in June and hubby's deluxe pass is blocked out so we'll be staying out of the parks. Our flight gets into SNA just after 2pm and we plan to Uber to our hotel check in and then walk to downtown Disney and enjoy some food and drink at UVA bar and Trader Sam's and soak up the atmosphere before hitting the parks hard for the next 5 days.

This is a good topic. Arrival day. What does everyone plan to do on arrival day?

We haven't booked our flights, but we will likely end up with one that doesn't land until 5pm. Quite a bit later than we are used to. Last time it took us a while to get the rental car and install our son's seat. Then we'll check in to the hotel. If we're hungry, we'll probably stop at Denny's next to the hotel. Though I am really hoping we don't have to. We will need to go to Target for a bunch of stuff and that will probably take forever like last time. Then it will be back to the hotel to unpack and shower. It will probably be a very, very long day with basically nothing fun.

Back when it was just my husband and myself...we would often take the earliest flight we could find. Sometimes we'd land in CA at 10am. That just isn't possible with our 3 year old though.

We should arrive around 2-3 at the hotel. Once we get all checked in, we will head DTD for a little shopping, dinner, and take in the magic. We haven't decided where we want to eat yet. Looking forward to it though.
