downtown Disney resorts

Hi Everybody,

I'm going to be in Orlando for just 2 days at the end of January and I wanted to stay at one of the hotels close to Downtown Disney. The only problem is that I can't remember all of the hotels there are to choose from. I was hoping someone here could recomend a couple of nice hotels that are within walking distance to the Downtown Disney Marketplace. I would also like to know if any the hotels might be running any specials at that time.

I've stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel near DTD. It was a nice, clean hotel and was a 10-15 minute walk to DTD. Nothing really special like staying at a Disney resort, but very nice. I'm staying at the Hilton in April and heard that hotel is good as well. I'm sure others will comment as well.

The DIS has a ratings site that includes reviews of DTD hotels - here is the web site http://www.wdwinfo.com/ratings/index.php . Most of the other DTD hotels have ratings here.

thers a web site you can go to and mousesavers has great rates at the hilton and doubletree guest suites
we stayed at the DTGS in may 2003 for 89 a night it was fine we stayed for 2 weeks and had no issues the room was fine it was out 1st family trip and we wanted to lots of stuff besides just Disney

I've stayed at Wyndham Palace, Hotel Royal Plaza and Grosvenor. I'd highly recommend HRP, loved it so much I'm staying there again in 2 weeks, got a great deal through mousesavers! WP is also a wonderful hotel and I would stay there again too if the price was right. Grosvenor I was not happy with and I don't think I would ever stay there again.

Wyndham is pretty much a less than 5 minute walk to DTD and I think HRP shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

On Disney, there is the Port Orleans Riverside, which has a boat launch to Downtown Disney.
