Downtown Disney Question

We are planning a September trip to Disney World and we will have one day "off" from the parks while we are there. I'm thinking of making it a Sunday but I know we'll spend time at DTD on our day off Is there a downfall to choosing a Sunday? Does everything stay open there and the boardwalk similar to days during the week? Thanks!

The place is equally open and busy all seven days a week. Be aware that there is significant construction going on there for the next couple of years.
