Downtown Disney for those on a budget

If you want a 'safe' place to browse, marketplace fun finds has walls sorted by price ($10 & under, $20 & under) and a wall of items that are 5 for $20. I can usually always get flip flops and christmas ornaments as well as some kitchen stuff there for $4 a piece. Best frugal DTD shopping spot! There are so many deals there I am never tempted to go for more expensive items in other stores when I hit there first.

it's a lovely boat ride, and enjoyable to wander around. you can use snack credits in some spots, and the best qs credit on property is Wolfgang Puck express.:thumbsup2 If you don't use a ddp, I love Earl of Sandwich.... or split a sundae at ghirardellis....

We're a frugal family too & I absolutely love going to DTD. We like the theme of it, the little details- and the counter service food is very reasonably priced. Earl of Sandwich & Wolfgang Puck Express are where we eat. We tried the counter service next to Bongo's; it was cuban food- that was really good as well. We like to walk around and take in everything-- we occasionally will buy some souvenirs but not big shoppers. We did find a merchandise store (I forget the name) that had a clearance shelf w/ all items, 5 for $20. It was such a great deal. I got the kids a stuffed animal each; a headband, a mug, and a mini cutting board all for $20. Was so happy my husband found it. lol

what are the best things to eat at Wolfgang Pucks and Earl of Sandwich? Disney Quest is in DTD, right?

We love DtD. SO much to do. Splitzville is $5/person/hour to bowl from 1030 - 1230 each day. The kids had 2 hours of fun bowling for $20. Dh and I sat back with bloody mary's and sushi for breakfast and just chilled. It was great in there.

We did DisneyQuest for a full day. They have a movie theater. The hot air balloon thing. We like just sitting and people watching, too.

DTD is a Disney themed open mall. It's shops and stores and restaurants. You can spend as much or as little as you want there.

Earl of Sandwich is a good sandwich shop with soups, salads and sandwiches and the usual sides. The turkey sandwiches are good and priced like my local deli sandwich shop.

My sister in law loves the turkey and dressing and cranberry sandwich. Like thanksgiving leftovers on a sandwich.

Dh enjoyed Disney quest, but our 4 kids and I could have left after 30 minutes. Just not our thing.

We like TRex and Rainforest and my DH and DS8 LOVE Disney Quest (we have DVC PAPs) so we usually go to DTD at least once or twice on every trip. I hardly ever buy anything there except for an ornament at the Christmas shop, but I do love browsing around. We have stayed at POR and OKW and the boat ride is very nice as well.
