Downtown Disney for the first time

Hi all! I haven't been to Downtown Disney since I was much younger, and my DH has never been at all. We are planning to spend some time there on our arrival day instead of hitting a park for a half day. What should we definitely make sure to do? I think we want to have dinner at T-Rex because it looks really awesome inside, but other than that I have no clue. What are the must-dos? Anything particularly cool we should check out? We'll be there on Friday, November 1. Thanks!!

They have a new bowling alley there. We can't wait to bowl in December!!!!

If you are doing Splitsville. Be prepared to wait. Time can be up to 3 hours to bowl.

If you want to do Trex. I suggest signing up for Landrys Select. You pay $25 to join. But get it back as a "Welcome Gift" with in 24 hours. Plus, during your birthday month you get an additional $25. I am on my phone so I can link the site. But just google Landys Select.

Also, for T-Rex, make advance reservations. It can fill up. I believe they're in the Disney dining system, but they may also take them on their own. Not sure about that...

If you haven't seen Cirque du Soleil, that's always fun. (Not cheap either, but things are quiet early November, so maybe there will be some discounts)

Judging by where you posted this, I'm guessing you're not bringing kids. But if you were, there's the Lego store, build Star Wars light sabers or Mr. Potato Heads in Once Upon a Toy, build remote controlled cars in back of Team Mickey.

You can watch custom baseball bats being made in Team Mickey.

Stop for a free piece of chocolate at Ghirardelli.

I know you're planning on T-Rex, but one of the best values in quick meals on property is at Earl of Sandwich.

You could rent a boat or water sprite.

If you don't have your tickets or have vouchers, the Guest Relations at Downtown Disney is a much better idea than going to the parks.

And, of course, there's always the shopping...

Ha, we are not bringing kids, but my DH would LOVE the lego store and building a remote control car. Or at least watching some more age appropriate kids do it. And we loved Ghirardelli in SF, so we will definitely have to stop by there! Thanks for ALL the info, that's great to know!

You have the Disney Quest in-door theme park.
You have AMC 24 screen movie theater some with dine-in (food served by waiters).
In front of HoB, there is usually a singer in the afternoons that you can listen too.
The show stage in front of the Disney store, can have bands, dances, etc to watch.

DEFINITELY stay for the DJ show in the amphitheater in front of the World of Disney store in the evening! I look forward to this EVERY trip! The dancing is so much fun for kids and adults alike! DH isn't really much of an "in-public" dancer but even he enjoyed getting some good footage of everyone else!!

You can even build your own coaster and go back in time to see the Comedy show at Comedy Warehouse now that was good times.

My husband and I love to go to the lego store and buy a plastic cup filled with obscure legos! (We just did that yesterday). Its also nice to spend some time in the eve at pleasure island to listen to thd music and watch the 'bronze statues'.

I like watching the Irish tapdancing show at Raglan Road!
