Hi - I have a free night where I have not booked a PS.

We are going to go to Disney Quest that afternoon (3pm-ish) and then we would have dinner afterwards

It's just me and DD9, - I want something nice (good quality) but also not boring so DD doesnt' get restless... any ideas for that area?

Sometimes it seems like I am torturing her - she sits at the table scowling at me as I have an appetizer, entree and dessert - like I am taking way too long. LOL

Thanx

Appetizer, entree, and dessert???? You ARE taking way too long!!! You and my husband would get along great! In fact, next trip we should join ressies... you and Mike could eat million course meals and your daughter and I could grab a burger and go!!! After all, it is DISNEYWORLD!!!!!! LOL!!!!

Seriously, I liked Planet Hollywood for what it was. Something to look at, noisy, and good burgers... just something to think about!

Erin :D

Erin LOL - your husband is my dream-man!

Planet Hollywood - I heard it was really loud in there? But maybe that is a good thing as I won't her my daughter complaining. :)

Thanx

I know you'll see negative & positive comments on here about RFC, but if you want to keep her entertained - why not try it? Ok, it may not be 1st notch gourmet, but what the heck. That's really the most kid friendly restaurant at DD.

(Their burgers are yummy!)

p.s.- I was kind of afraid to post this, I 'believe' I've read one of your previous posts about the RFC...

I agree on RFC. We actually like the place, but we have only had burgers and salads. Also, there are alot of things to look at to keep your daughter occupied while you are enjoying your meal. Also, you could always eat at the Cheesecake Factory inside Disney Quest. Not gourmet fare, but decent. Planet Hollywood is loud, but your daughter would probably be occupied there for awhile too. I would stay away from Pucks, Bongos and and Portabello Yaht. Too stuffy for a 9 year old.

i wasn't overkeen with the food in planet hollywood, florida.

i went twice to the New York one and thought it was fantastic.

when i went to the florida one i wasn't impressed with their pasta!

If your looking for a mellow place with great food and atmosphere then I'd go to House of Blues. This is my favorite eatery at DD.

I do like Planet Hollywood, but it is loud and more chaotic. It's more a lunch place for me (a cool respite to recharge the batteries for more shopping :p )

But, HOB is my choice for a nice place to relax, unwind and let my feet and wallet recover from the workout they got at the Marketplace.

Another vote for the House of Blues! Their food is great and there's so much to look at your daughter should be entertained long enough for you to be able to get your appetizer, entree, and dessert :D My DH and I are with you - I love to really enjoy our meals at WDW as they are a big part of the trip. My only regret from this trip was that I was so stuffed after most of our meals I couldn't even find room for dessert! My next trip I have vowed to eat dessert---NO MATTER WHAT!! :D HOB is fun, we've been there countless times and never been disappointed with our servers or the food quality. Personally we don't like RFC at all - I think their food is awful, but that's just my opinion!

Hiya -

Planet Hollywood is good, burgers and the like and there is plenty of neat things to keep your DD interested. Not sure if you or your daughter like seafood but IMHO Fultons is a fab place to have dinner. Portobello Yacht Club is good as well but it might be too boring for your daughter.

Not sure if this is of any help but last year when I took my niece to Disney Quest, she is 9 too, I commented that since she felt she was getting a bit old for places like Chef Mickeys perhaps we should give Rain Forest Cafe a miss and eat somewhere that she felt was more appropraite for her age, she is 9 going on 35!! She chose Fultons and she had a wonderful time.

Hope this helps.

Planet Hollywood!

That is all she can talk about......

DisneyQuest and eating at Planet Hollywood!

It is loud (sign of aging?) but I found the Thai Noodle dish satisfying and of course, hamburger for her!

There is lots to see for her so you should be able to enjoy your meal!

Bring Earplugs just in case!;)

See ya by the pool at AKL!

I wanted to try HOB next trip and the great reviews I read in a recent thread convinced me to definitely give it a try!

Hi - okay - we are going to go with Planet Hollywood - the loudness will dull my DD's complaining about me taking too long - and the thai noodle bowl sounds good!

Is Planet Hollywood right near DQ ? I don't remember seeing it last time - although it was pouring rain.

Thanx for all your help

Man, this got a good giggle out of me. :p

To answer your latest question, PH is SORT OF near DQ. Kind of, but not exactly. You have to pass Wolfgang Puck's to get there...which means...you may consider eating there instead. Yummy food. Although your daughter, if she loves movies, will probably love PH. Food is so-so. I guess it depends if you're going for atmosphere (PH) or food (WP).

mid point between East and West!

It's the great big Globe Thing, you can't miss it! Just follow the noise!

DQ is just around the corner or you can walk staight by the parking lot sidewalk.

Enjoy!

I took my DD (also 9) to Planet Hollywood last Tuesday when she went to the Vista Credit Union with me (we live in Clermont FL, about 30 minutes from the parks. She LOVED it! She had the kids pizza, which was HUGE... we brought 1/2 of it home for dinner. She was totally entralled with all of the movie props and the continuous music videos and trivia. Our service was great, and the food was really good, as well. I had the Mushroom/Swiss burger, and fries, which was so huge, I couldn't finish it, either, but gave it a fair try.

After lunch, we used the elevators and explored all of the cool props from movies on the other floors.

Yes, it was a bit loud, but not overwhelming. We were there around 2:30 pm, and didn 't have to wait, although I do understand that it does get much more crowded later in the evening.

You CANNOT miss Planet Hollywood... it is the big Blue Globe building located between Downtown Disney Westside and Pleasure Island... really it is the centerpiece of Downtown Disney, as it is what really draws your eye.

Enjoy:)
