Hi there!

Just planning for Christmas . . . is it still OK to use the check in at DTD if you are not booked with Virgin Hols? We are booked with Virgin Atlantic - it used to be that you could pay $10 and still use the service, but I haven't seen that anywhere lately. Don't want to drag my family all the way there for nothing!!

Yes - there was definitely a sign in the DTD check-in when we left last week saying that people could use the service for $10/person.

Yes we paid $10 a person there end of october

We used it before in 2009 and I am sure it is excellent when it works - sadly their systems were down so they had to check everybody in manually. It took us 3 hours!! and the queue was so long we spent most of the time stood in very hot sun and there was no way to get a drink in the immediate vicinity.

Of course once we were there with our bags their was very little we could do but wait. We did still manage to get to Magic Kingdom one last time though!

we have used this facility at DTD for the last 4 visits. We always stay at OKW so it is easy just to drive down in the morning and get rid of the luggage.

Sounds like we have been lucky so far - in that the computers have always been up and running. I also find the staff here very friendly.

A new one on me this year was that they weighed the luggage! They haven't done that on my previous trips checking in at DTD, (I was the one re packing my luggage by Cirque!!!!!!
