Downtime between dinner and Pirates Cruise

I managed to score a Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise, which leaves from the Contemporary, for one of the MNSSHP nights, which means that we "report" at 8:15. We already had Chef Mickey's reservation at the Contemporary at 5:30. I really doubt we'll need nearly 3 hours for dinner! What do you suggest we do between the time we're done with dinner and before it's time for the cruise? Since it's an MNSSHP night, we can't get on the monorail for MK, so I think we'll need to look for options at the resort.

Also, my understanding is that resort guests can park at another resort for up to 3 hours - do you think it would be possible to ask to extend the time (maybe if we valet?) It's going to be a late night for the kiddos, so I'd rather be able to hop into the car back to AKL rather than have to monorail over to MK and get on a bus.

You could valet park for $15 and stay as long as you like. You might be able to explain your plans to the security guard at the gate and they'd extend your time, but I have no experience with that. The Contemporary has a great arcade on the same floor as Chef Mickey's. I bet you could easily kill any extra time there. :)

I agree that the Arcade is a good idea. You could also resort hop a bit and check out the other monorail resorts or shop a bit at some of the gift shops. If you end up with a pretty big block of time, a boat ride over to FW to explore a bit is fun too.
