Okay--who am I kidding? I will probably never see "princess size" again.:rotfl2:

But I started this week.

Let's see: after 4 days of eating weight watcher meals (with a side of veggies) for lunch and dinner I realized I am going to have to start cooking again. I can not live on only prepared foods. Plus my BP SOARED. So--searching online for recipes and friends at work are bringing in WW cookbooks.

After eating veggies for a few days I realized that my body is just not used to them. Let's just say some gastro upsets were frequent this week.

Proud of myself: today I actually tried some black beans. I didn't throw up and they actually were ok. So I will add them to the list of things "I will eat but not too often".

Excercise: 30 minutes of Richard Simmons on Sunday, 30 minutes of walking Tuesday and Thursday. PLUS I got off the elevator one floor before mine and walked them at least once every day (two flights).

Bad days: Wed. the girls went out for Chinese for lunch. I couldn't figure out EXACTLY how many points are in that da** food plus I know it's high in sodium so I stayed behind and ate my WW. Wed. afternoon at our monthly staff meetings we had cake for the January birthdays (of which I am one) and I didn't eat any. Today--we had a King Cake and I didn't have any of that either. (I am saving my bad girl day for my birthday!!!!;) )

So I made it through a week.

Now on to week two.

Your post had me laughing! I'm sure your "gastro" problems will go away when your body gets more used to the veggies. But it might depend on the veggies, some are worse offenders that others...

Great job resisting all the goodies, you made some really good choices!

Keep it up!! :cheer2:

Amy

Thanks Amy.

Today:

About died at the amount of $$$ I spent at the grocery store. (But then told myself I would spend it bit by bit with all the eating out I used to do)

I DO recall why I pretty much gave up cooking and grcoery shopping. (Other than being signle and hating leftovers).

The planning. It too ke mforever to use my WW slide chart to determine what I could and could not have. Then to figure out everything that will go into the meal. OY!!

Then DRAGGING the stuff in. Then cutting the chicken up into 3 oz portions and storing in freezer bags in the freezer.

Lots of work but I know it will be worth it.

Yep, gastro gets better as your body gets used to all the roughage! I had some gastro issues myself this week after adding a lot of veggies in my diet. And I could so relate to your grocery spending and lugging that stuff in. I was right there with you, but its worth the effort! I look forward to taking this journey with you!

Amy&Dan: I look forward to the journey too.

Off to my grandson's birthday party (pizza and birthday cake!!) Will use my extra points for one piece of pizza and skip the cake.

I will skip skip the cake.

I WILL skip the cake.

I WILL SKIP THE ****** CAKE. IT WILL NOT WIN OUT!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, the joys of planning. But planning is the key to success! Try to make ahead as much as you can on the weekend for the upcoming week (grill a bunch of chicken breasts so they are ready to eat, cut up all your fruits and veggies, etc). The pain and suffering for a couple hours on one day will save you grief during the week and help you keep on track. You can do it! :cheer2:

So, you have to tell us - did you skip the cake????

Good job planning. And remember, if you didn't skip the cake, just figure it in. I hope the party was fun! I agree with Amy, planning is key and worth the effort and almost always spells success, so well done!

Okay--avoided posting this week but have to live up to to it.

Bad week---week two and all I did was maintain --which is better than gaining. I think the two nights of pizza and then lunch out on Friday did me in. But I did maintain so that's good.

New food of the week was blueberries: they're NOT a keeper. I like them in muffins but not "straight" or mixed with banans or strawberries.

I did do good on the excercise/walking front. Almost every day (missed Tues & Thurs). And did ouble yesterday (Richard Simmons and walking).

So on to a better week.

This week will be much better.

Don't worry, maintaining is a good thing! And very good job getting all that walking in. This is a new week, I bet you'll do great!
