Is there anything for Android users to download a TV series or show like there is for Apple users (iTunes?)

Also, is there an app that can be used for both devices that would allow us to download TV shows (like Flixter is for movies)?

Amazon shows need to be streamed, correct?

Amazon doesn't support downloading video to stock android devices sadly, only on Kindle Fire tablets. (Not terribly surprising, but annoying)

You can of course download movies (and TV shows) through the Google Play store, fairly homologous to iTunes in that regard. Of course, your purchases in each ecosystem are completely separate from one another.

I don't know of any (legal) service that allows downloading to both at this point.

The only one I know of is Flixter.

Problem is, we have two ipads and one Android (nexus 7) in our family.

Kids want a couple of movies or TV programs for the trip.

One kids wants TV shows.....Flixter is limited and only has movies.

Oh well.....may have to have Nexus kid rent red box and watch on his old portable DVD player. Our car DVD player broke.

We bought some TV shows on iTunes to put on my son's iPad. (Rugrats!, Doug, PeeWees Playhouse, and some of the Disney Parks TV specials).

While on our network, we can use an app from our cable company to watch live TV, this is sort of cool, it makes your iPad like a TV (free). I also use Tivo, I know I can use my computer to watch shows, I think there is a program to install, not sure if that works on a tablet.

Of course, I buy DVDs of movies and some TV shows (MM Clubhouse for example) that come with the digital copy, I use iTunes to get those onto the iPad too.

I don't know if there Android app is different, but the Amazon Instant Video app allows you to do what you want to do. I've bought shows and can watch them streaming or I can download them to my device. This is on my ITouch though, so I don't know if it is different.

I am a little frustrated here too - I just ordered movies for Christmas with the digital copy (thinking we could put them on our Android tablet and phone for our trip) - only to find out there is no player that will play them. Grrrr!!

I am a little unsure on the ability to use the software available to get a copy of your DVD (FOR PERSONAL USE) that will convert it to a format for an Android.

I use WinX DVD Ripper Platinum to make digital copies of my dvds to play on my iPad. You can use this software to make copies which will play on Android devices as well.

As I was alluding to above, Amazon's android app won't do it... you can only do so on iOS devices or Kindle devices, sadly.

Dawn, I seem to remember from a previous post that you've gone cable/dish free, but for other people with the same question, the newest DISH hopper system has it so you can view items on your ipad anywhere that are saved on your dvr (hopper) at home. Pretty cool!

Your question is also why I'm buying the new Kindle Fire when it comes out next month, largely so I can download all the free Amazon Prime shows that I want to watch and not have to have wifi available.

But from what others have said above, you could also download it to an iPad or iPod?

I don't know how to do it.
