What is the best way to download movies you allready own to your ipod? Do you need special software?

Most DVD's will be protected and require some kind of security breaking software. For conversion, a program called handbrake is available free on the web and works well. It may work with some of your DVD's.

I tend to download movies already in the mp4 format and the majority work on my iPhone :)

I bought My Sister's Keeper and it came with a free digital copy, but I can't figure out how to get it to iTunes.

I have been using "Leawo Free DVD to iPhone Converter" for the past few weeks with no problems. I found it on cnet.com

Usually there is a code in the box that you need to type in to "unlock" your digital copy. I try to always buy the DVD with the digital copy included when that option is available.

Yep. I've done it several times, and it automatically goes to iTunes. This time it is just in media player. That's no good.

Once the movie file is in iTunes you have to instruct iTunes to transfer the file to your iPhone/iPod.

For Mac users, after the iPhone/iPod is connected to the computer and iTunes opens you would click on the device icon (iPhone/iPod) in the iTunes library window. Click the Movies tab in main window and then select one of the check boxes. (You can select to sync all your movies or individual files).

Once you have selected the movies to be transferred you will need to click the Sync button to move the file to your iDevice.

I love the fact that most releases are doing this now. I really like the 3 packs, where the blu-ray, regular DVD, and digital copy are in the same box. Makes it handy for those long drives when the kids want to watch movies in the car, and still gives me the blu-ray for at home! :thumbsup2

Boy am I electronically illiterate. I didn't even know these codes existed. I am going to have to check my dvds.:confused3
