Is there someplace to "empty" a memory card from a digital camera in the parks? Like one of the One Hour Photo places?

I do not kow for certain, but I would guess no. Maybe you can get them developed at one of the photo centers....is that what you are asking?

We have two cards that hold about 280 pics each and fill both of those on every trip. One of the things we do is review the Pics every night and delete the ones that did not come out well. We now have a laptop and will bring that with us next time and just download the cards to the computer immediately.

My husband bought a device--best I can describe it is as a portable hard drive--it was the size of one of those mini tape recorders. We took it on a 2 week trip to europe and downloaded daily.

If you travel frequently--this might be a good investment--he got one with lots of room on it (sorry I don't know by gigs, bytes and such). It is not cheap (a few hundred dollars). But now we don't need extra memory cards.

This link lists examples of what I am talking about as well as prices--

The camera shop in the Expedition Hall at MK has a machine like what you would find at your local drug store.

Hello, We are going down in two weeks and I just picked up a 2nd memory card so I wouldn;t have to worry about running out of space for our pictures.

You can pick up a 256 mb compact flash card for approx. $40.

That would hold upto a few hundred pictures depending on the quality setting you use.

There are several places where you can download your memory card to a disk. The Kodak Center in Exposition Hall in MK, somewhere in Epcot, and the sundries store at the Contemporary. Downloading 120 pics cost a little over $12 (pricey, but beats taking a taxi to the Walgreens). Just be careful to FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS!! There are several times during the process where it looks like it's finished, but by actually reading the instructions you discover there are more steps involved. Just make sure you do everything! The process was a bit slow (took about 20 minutes for 120 pics), but it was great to be able to free up some space. Like the other poster said though, buying more cards is an easier way to do it (Target has a 256mb card on sale for $55 through Saturday). We brought 480mb worth of cards, but took over 600 pictures at the highest resolution, so we had no choice but to download some.

I actually carry my iPaq PDA in the parks that has an SD port and the expansion pack has a 2gb hard drive built in. Yes it is an expensive option, but my employer provided most of this equipment and I take it with me on vacation to occasionally send an email from the AT&T internet terminals that are in the parks these days. They also make and expansion pack that takes several kinds of memory.
